I suppose like everyone else who talks about rings this only applies to QBs I've always been dumb enough to not think about this one Because it's a stupid statement. Good for you. I'm sure if you dig long enough, you can find some 3rd string WR or a journeyman RB who has like 5+ rings. Pretty much anyone's rings is tied to either a great QB or a great defense so it only really makes sense to tie rings to QB's since a mediocre QB can lose more games for a great D, than a mediocre D can lose for a great QB. |

If you want to only talk in black and whites, you'll never understand anything really. This line, followed by a purely black and white explanation of why -G.O.A.T-'s better than Peyton literally made me laugh out loud. Ever heard the expression "it's the pot calling the kettle black" - If not, I'd recommend looking it up. It takes something like 100 people to win a SB ring so trying to isolate individuals to see which one was more valuable than another is pretty much impossible for any human. It would be great if a computer could take all feelings and personal biased out of the equation and tell us that the most influential person in football was Mr. XYZ but until then it'll remain a grey area which is fun to discuss and certainly not black and white either way. |

What is with the -G.O.A.T- Bunch that leads to them going baliistic so easily?
I actually didn't say Manning was the greatest of all time, though you seem to be thinking I did. He's not the Broncos greatest QB of all time, though I feel its important to add that that's my opinion. I wouldn't start name calling anyone who felt he was. For what it's worth, I find the debate silly, but when people are dogmatic about one man being the greatest of all time in a sport that features 53 players on every team and has been played for many many years, I think it's important to pop some people's balloons. Of course its also important to add that I'm a Broncos fan, which means I don't usually get to see -G.O.A.T-, or Bellicose for that matter, at their best. I do have to say though, -G.O.A.T-'s performance in defeat after Miller and co had put him on his back twenty times, was one of his most impressive. Though no one noticed because he lost. |

I count count Darelle Revis but I don't wanna upset Pats fan Last edited on 2017-07-25 12:05:01 by MonsterT95 |

So you count Faulk for Manning and not Fred Taylor for -G.O.A.T- Manning's rookie year Faulk (25yo) got his 3rd Pro Bowl nod. Fred Taylor (33yo) managed 6 games as an injured shell of himself with the Pats. Those are the actual pro bowls won ... And I counted nothing, that's from NFL Network during their playoff coverage. I could honestly care less about the argument. It's tired and old at this point, people have been arguing it back and forth for almost two decades now. And for the record, -G.O.A.T- still says Montana is the best of all time, because of the era he played in and DBs getting away with mugging people. |

An easy math to find out who is the GOAT on QB Position:
(Passyards x #Sacks) / #Passattempts = ? (GOAT>others) If someone wanted to do this for all NFL QB's, he will know the real GOAT. |

If -G.O.A.T- had to play in the same era as Marino, Montana, and Elway when defenders could hit the QB and DBs were allowed to hit WRs then I think you would have these 4 in the conversation. Manning and -G.O.A.T- both benefit from rule changes. If Marino had the current rules to play with they wouldn't need a punter.
Knowing what I know, if these 4 QBs were coming out of college under the same rules and it's my pick I would have a difficult time making that pick. Not sure why Manning is even mentioned, I'd put Favre and Rogers above him. |
