Obviously, but that has never been the suggestion and I highly doubt any possible implementation of re-organization would just put all of the best teams in one league since that would cause even more disparity in Elite.

The point I'm trying to drill into your head is that any likely algorithm that Pete would use to rebalance would decrease the level of competitiveness in Admirals. Admirals 1.1 is probably the most balanced playing field in the game right now, so its pretty obvious that changes to make other playing fields more balanced will likely unbalance Admirals 1.1.

I'm sure this is obvious to even you though; you're just trolling per norm.

Whatever x or y, in the example with one Elite League and one league or two leagues per level of course it would be more competitive. At the same time there will be a diminishing feel of community that has been created by the regions. The only problem is that we have too many regions which creates a bottle neck between the regional first leagues and the Elite League. A reduction of the regions would keep the communities alive and enhance the competition at the same time.

My earlier question if we had a team to be relegated to make the playoffs proves my point. It is a bit absurd, when such a thing happens and the current system lets it happen.

The alternative would be for 1.1 teams winning their leagues not being able to promote to Elite because the four teams up there all had winning records. I think folks are forgetting Pete's original purpose in creating Elite.

No, the alternative would be to have four regions.

You could still have the exact same problem with four regions. Even with 4 regions, you are going to force the bottom X teams to demote. If one of the four is strong, teams with winning records will demote.

The only way to actually prevent that particular issue from happening is by having teams demote to different regions than they promoted from.

With 4 regions instead of 8 the problem would be reduced. Just like it'd be greater if we had 16 regions instead of 8.

And I'd personally have no problem with teams moving regions, Pete even said earlier in the thread that it is now a possibility. So if several Admirals teams are better than Fire teams I'm perfectly fine with moving down to Admirals 1.1 and letting a better Admirals 1.1 team take my place in Elite.

Population and density, that is the key.

Not without some specific conditions I guess.

I'd like to hear what the conditions are... Because if I was moved to Claymore I'd be winning my Elite division almost every season

so what, ideally, do you want or would like to happen.

I think everyone would like, in an ideal world, to be in a true consistent competitive league where teams are on an equal footing - or more of one - but with the various factors involved - locations, preferences of game times - notwithstanding how team ratings can be artificially inflated/deflated - and the vaguaries of any central ranking system that have already been mentioned - I think you may find it easier, and less frustrating, to try and plait smoke, my friend....
