I'm in SD 2.2 and have a relegation game against a 1.1 team. After I lose, does that mean I'm stuck in 2.2 for (at least) another season? Or will the 2.2 human teams all get bumped up to 2.1 to replace some of the BOT army?

There is no team exchange between 2.1 and 2.2. Some of the 2.x teams will replace bots in 1.1, if there are any.

2.x is the level, and 2.1 and 2.2 are at that level, just different divisions.
