Here we are again my fellow Thunderians, a new season, a new Pre-Season Show and thank you to jetto, passionatelad, Cheesehead and thomastem for their help towards the presentation of this show.

As usual with start with the AC East and the teams participating in this division are

East Coast Crushers are managed by Ricki
1.1 Record - Rookie Season
ELO Score: 693

Kalapana Wild Thangs are managed by stizz
1.1 Record - 22 seasons 232-120
Divisional Titles - NC East 3 (Seasons 8, 11, 14) AC East 3 (Seasons 16, 17, 24, 25)
Thunder Bowls - 1 - 1 loss
Elite League Record - 1 season 4-12
ELO Score: 919

Preston Plumbers are managed by oakbark
1.1 Record - 6 seasons 51-45
Divisional Titles - AC South 4 (Seasons 21,23-25)
Thunder Bowls - 1 - 1 loss
Elite League Record - 1 season 1-15
ELO Score: 819

true winners home now gone BOT

jettos view is

AC East
Only 2 teams from last season remains in the AC East: Fijer promoted maybe a bit surprisingly to EL and Randolph_Giebler had to go down to Level 2.X
Remaining Teams are long time member stizz and his Kalapana Wild Thangs and retry and his true winners home. They are joined by oakbark (Preston Plumbers) coming down from EL and fellow 1.1. Rookie Ricki (East Coast Crushers) - last seasons 2.2. League Champ.
On my mind the divisional title will either got to stizz or oakbark this season - despite oakbark is hard to judge after one intentional "down" season in the EL. Stizz did not suffer much from much retirements and kept his roster together.
East Coast Crushers play their first season at 1.1 level but they seem to be one of the more experienced rookie managers playing already since Season 24. Of course there will be some losses but I think they won't get in troubles about relegetaion.
For twh I quote my message from last season preview show: " Actually they are a team hard to figure out as they are paying wages to both players and coaches like somebody who should not only win 2 games like last season." This last season they won 4 games and had to play a relegation match to avoid relegation. Will be interesting if there's a plan behind the curtain I can not see...

1. Kalapana Wild Thangs
2. Preston Plumbers
3. East Coast Crushers
4. true winners home

thomsastem has this point of view

This is a 2 horse race for the division. At the starting line Wild Thangs have a slight advantage. How active will the plumbers be in adding talent during the season? Will Wild Thangs match? If both stand pat I give slight edge to the Thangs for the division and Plumbers for a wild card but based on the Plumbers history and their aggressive rise to get to Elite 2 seasons ago my money is on Oakbark and his crew. True Winners has a history of under achieving and unless this changes I look for the upstart East Coast Crushers to take 3rd.

1. Vile Vikings...I mean Plumbers.
2. Wild Thangs
3. East Coast Crushers
4. True Winners

It should be noted that both of them made their reviews prior to twh going bot and it is surprising that they are both in agreement that twh would have been propping up the division.

Crushers should not be taken too lightly and they have some depth in their squad to get more than the two bot wins and with oakbark re-evaluting his team for a more concerted attempt at breaking Landru's and Styrian's grip on Thunder's Elite League it will surely mean that stizz will have to read more of the manual and jack6's guide to the game to keep his team competitive.

Now onto AC North and the teams participating are

Budapest Wolves are managed by janos
1.1 Record - 22 seasons 259-95
Divisional Titles - AC South 3 (Seasons 13,15,16) NC East 2 (Season 18,20)
AC North 4 (Seasons 22,23,25,26)
Thunder Bowls - 3 - 1 win 2 losses
Elite League Record - 3 seasons 8-40
ELO Score: 957

San Francisco Miners are managed by JoeDangit
1.1 Record - 1 season 2-14
ELO Score: 687

UNTOUCHABLES are managed by nicky1974
1.1 Record - 5 seasons 29-51
ELO Score: 754

Wolflings are managed by Wolfling
1.1 Record - 5 seasons 45-35
Divisional Titles - AC North 1 (Season 24)
ELO Score: 830

passionatelad's view is

Budapest Wolves will be expecting to challenge for the Conference 1 spot and Conference championship playoff game. With elite experience it’s only a matter of time before he makes it back up.
UNTOUCHABLES and Wolflings are two fairly evenly matched sides. Wolflings Edged the division last season with 8-8 compared to UNTOUCHABLES 7-9. The standard of both teams’ means they should both be challenging for the Wild Card spot in the conference, it’s not unconceivable that one or even both teams could make that step up
We welcome “JoeDangIt” and his San Francisco Miners to 1.1. San Francisco Miners are 2.1 Bowl champions after beating Novi Cougars. They will need to be patient the next couple seasons and aim to avoid relegation this year which isn’t impossible. It will be interesting to see how they handle the step up and will be certainly intriguing to see how the team develops this season.

1. Budapest Wolves
2. Wolflings
3. UNTOUCHABLES
4. San Francisco Miners

Wolves have had a good couple of seasons and still have room for improvement, but janos should not sit on his laurels as Wolflings are not far behind and are chaffing at the bit to make the division title race tighter.
UNTOUCHABLES are having financial problems and the question is will this slow or stop their development in this division, time will tell. The Miners return to this level with a younger squad and a bit more depth, their aim is to avoid automatic relegation and continue their upward curve.

Moving onto AC South and the teams participating are

Baltimore Ravens are managed by RavensFan
1.1 Record - 1 season 6-10
ELO Score: 648

Deflators are managed by IMGregory
1.1 Record - 6 seasons 71-25
Divisional Titles - AC West 2 (Season 23, 24) AC South 1 (Season 26)
Thunder Bowls - 2 - 2 losses
Elite League Record - 2 season 8-24
ELO Score: 985

Flow Gaming are managed by microlol
1.1 Record - 14 Seasons 124-100
Divisional Titles - AC North 5 (Seasons 15-20)
ELO Score: 776

Xu Da are managed by Hongwu
1.1 Record - 13 seasons 110-98
Divisional Titles - AC South 5 (Seasons 17-20, 22)
ELO Score: 751

Here is Cheesehead's view

Baltimore Ravens finished last season with a respectable 6-10 record which is all the more surprising since his stadium is only at 66k capacity. Just why RavensFan handicaps himself this way know one knows but it should mean that his record will be worse than last season's. I see a 2 - 4 win scenario for the Ravens.

Deflators must be disappointed with not being able to get promoted after losing to LM Pirates. I do expect them however to dominate again and are my favorites for promotion from the AC this season.

Microlol's FLow Gaming had their peak many seasons ago but have never recaptured their form again. Every year there is hope of a revival and two seasons ago they ended up a respectable 11-5 but last season's 6-10 was very disappointing. Especially considering their whopping wage bill of over 5 million! I expect them to improve on last year but be shy of the 11-5 record of two seasons ago.

Xu Da's transfer balance is about 300 million in the plus which is admirable. But it seems he is not putting that money into the team. Hongwu has been in rebuild mode for a few seasons now and has had two consecutive winning seasons now. So will he make the leap? I don't think so as his team plays with way too much inconsistency which causes Xu Da to suffer head scratching losses. I think another 9-7 season might be on the cards here.

PROJECTED STANDINGS
1. Deflators
2. Flow Gaming
3. Xu Da
4. Baltimore Ravens

and thomastem had this to say

Deflators are huge favorites for the division as well as representing AC in the Bowl. I don't see any speed bumps for them until the playoffs. Flow Gaming and Xu-Da once upon a time were winning their division every year. It's been awhile. Is this the season that changes are made to get a playoff birth? A wild card is not out of the question for these two if things fall right for them. The Ravens upset some teams last season and will need to do so again to not have a relegation game. They seem to do a good job game planning and can move up to playoff contender if they get finances in order.

1. Deflators
2. Flow Gaming
3. Xu Da
4. Ravens

Recent news is that Deflators are having a slight cashflow problem, whether this will affect the team's approach to this season we will have to see and likewise will Gaming's outlay be profitable or not or will there be longer term cashflow problems that might need a rethink. No worries in that area for Xu Da, but as has been already be said is the team going the right way without the need to dig into those extremely large pockets of cash. Ravens you have the choice of following the extreme's of financial thought in your division or get your stadium built up to max so you can have the cash to decide either way.

and to end the first half of the show the AC West and the teams participating are

Arizona (Severnside) Cardinals are managed by passionatelad
1.1 Record - 17 seasons 158-114
Divisional Titles - AC West 6 (Seasons 15, 17, 18, 20, 25, 26)
ELO Score: 849

Juggernaut are managed by inranger
1.1 Record - 1 season 4-12
ELO Score: 649

Marion Knuckleheads are managed by Davecool
1.1 Record - 2 seasons 6-26
ELO Score: 657

Novi Cougars are managed by bigjoe
1.1 Record - Rookie Season
ELO Score: 657

thomastem's view is

Arizona Cardinals are the reigning champs of this division and are the favorites to repeat. The Cards are fighting the reputation of "One and done" in the playoffs and need to win the big game if they want to compete for the trophy. They will easily unless the Knuckleheads take a step forward with their 5.8 million dollar player salary, the highest in the league. Can they come together quickly and challenge for the division? Until they do Cards remain the team to beat. The Novi Cougars are just up to 1.1 but what I do see is a fair amount of talent for a low wage. Salary cap efficiency tells me that this owner may sharp and active. The Juggs (and who don't like juggs?) finished last and will once again have trouble getting out of the basement with a low talent level.

1. Cards
2. Cougars
3. Knuckleheads
4. Juggs (Giggety)

Much as I hate to say it, Cardinals have this division tied up (if only I could have gone back to this division) it is theirs to loose. Just make the right play call in the play offs this time. As for the other three Knuckleheads have to prove their financial outlay will have them closing the gap, Juggernaut and Cougars have to use their nounch and gameplay to make sure they are not overrun by the other two teams.

thomastem gives the following AC Conference forecast

AC Playoff Forecast

Division Winners
Plumbers
Wolfings
Deflators
Cardinals

Wild Cards
Wolves
Wild Thangs

Personally I cannot see a much different play off line up, but I am sure that Xu Da will be the closest of the rest come play off time.

Welcome back, we now move onto the NC East and the teams participating are

Bathing Apes are manged by 90210
1.1 Record - 3 seasons 30-18
ELO Score: 812

Die Verdammten are managed by Lawinenhund
1.1 Record - 16 seasons 177-79
Divisional Titles - AC East 1 (Season 19) NC East 4 (Seasons 21-23, 25)
Thunder Bowls - 2 - 1 win 1 loss
Elite League Record - 2 season 6-26
ELO Score: 825

Jinonice Forever are managed by Finglow
1.1 Record - 1 season 2-14
ELO Score: 622

Thunder Bolts managed by wsfjlt
1.1 Record - 3 seasons 26-22
Divisional Titles - NC East 1 (Season 26)
ELO Score: 778

Here is jetto's view

NC East:
Fun fact: No changes here in NC East compared to last season. That's not happening too often.
Last season saw both Thunder Bolts and Bathing Apes advance to the Playoffs (both loosing their first game in Wildcard and Divisional round). Fellow long time Thunder Manager Lawinenhund (Die Verdammten) played a 6-10 season and Jinonice Forever played in the relegation to avoid that.
I expect both Thunder Bolts and Bathing Apes to fight for the Divisional Crown again. Interesting to see the different aprroaches from both managers regarding roster building... At the moment I would name Bathing Apes as a favourite as Thunder Bolts suffers from low TC at the beginning of the season which could be the deciding factor in such a close battle. Die Verdammten lost no single player this offseason. Maybe they will be able to close the gap a little bit as their rebuilt roster gains more and more exp... For Jinonice Forever I think avoiding relegation should be the main target again.

1. Bathing Apes
2. Thunder Bolts
3. Die Verdammten
4. Jinonice Forever

and tomastem's thoughts are

A nice rivalry has developed between the Apes and Bolts. Two of the newer managers that came up the same season and have risen in success at this level at about the same pace. The Bolts are down to a 76 chemistry and at a big advantage early with a tough early schedule after their first 2 games, week 4 they play the Apes. Like Jetto I see this as the difference for the divisional crown but don't be surprised if the Bolts beat the Apes if they face each other in playoffs. Apes for division and Bolts for wild card is my prediction. DV looks to be about a .500 team as they do well against lesser teams but rarely upset better teams and have a solid if not great roster. Jinonice could step forward as the season progresses and take 3rd if they are aggressive in improving.

1. Apes (Get a lead early while you can)
2. Bolts (Good start in first six games they move up to 1)
3. DV
4. Jinonce (DV is a good measuring stick for new managers beat them is a good first step)

Krugodam Stompers are managed by krugodam
1.1 Record - 3 seasons 21-27
ELO Score: 716
aka: Befuddled Bubble Bobbles

Harlingen Whalers are managed by Tabula Rasa

Thunder Bowls - 2 - 2 wins
Elite League Record - 2 seasons 3-29
Champ of Champ Bowls - 1 - 1 loss
ELO Score: 957
aka: Any name that suits thomo's mood

and passionatelad's thoughts are

Befuddled Bubble Bobbles aka Krugodam Stompers enter their 4th season and have developed nicely over the first 3 seasons. They have the edge over other Division rivals excluding Thomastem and i see them taking 2nd in the division.

Harlingen Whalers should easily avoid relegation here. They have made 2 additions off the transfer market since last season ended so may be concentrating on developing the current roster. Will be interesting to see how far they have come since last season. Securing a place in 1.1 will be priority here.

Kokomo Mantis got promoted as Thunder 2.2 Bowl finalists. Aim here will be avoiding relegation. They have a tough schedule and will need to make the most of there opportunities to stay up. How they do over division rivals and the team playbook may be key to how they fair this season.

The Fluffy Pink Dolly Bears aka M Divers will pending some miracle take the division with ease and is the favourite for the conference. Don't be surprised if they are back in elite next season.

1. The Fluffy Pink Dolly Bears
2. Befuddled Bubble Bobbles
3. Harlingen Whalers
4. Kokomo Mantis

thomastem should be confident of a divisional title here, but he better be careful and not mess about (too much). Krugodam has his squad developing nicely and are not that far away from being a serious challenger. Whalers did well last season and that momentum must be maintained as new boys Mantis are not a team to be taken lightly.

Cheesehead had these thoughts on the division

The NC South has become the tastiest division in Thunder 1.1 is you ask me. Each team can beat each other on their day and last season's standing reflected this.
This season looks to be another one full of intrigue and twist and turns.

Basterds have not codified their Elite-level status like Deflators for example but they have remained one of the teams to beat. Only the opening day defeat by Thunder Bolts was a real surprise (but in hindsight was just a first sign of a vastly improved Thunder Bolts team). However they are getting rid of most of their veterans so I expect the divisional games to be a much closes affair this season. This means they will regress from last season with the Patriots being the beneficiary.

Inbhir Narann is undergoing a rebuild and barely prevented a losing season (the lowest Bovakian is willing his team to drop in performance). Their have been signs of improvement and if Bova remembers to set game orders he should improve on the 8-8 record of last season.

Osler Rebels have performed admirably in a very tough division and definitely were a team on the rise. Whether they can make continue this in this very difficult division is a big question. I am erring on the side of caution here and expect them to stay on the same level as last season.

PROJECTED STANDINGS
1. Basterds
2. Totoras Patriots
3. Inbhir Narann
4. Osler Rebels

and thomastem added these thoughts

Bastards are hands down the best team is the toughest and most talented division. They are the team most equipped to upset Green Machine in the playoffs. The problem is all 3 other teams have the talent to be division winners in other divisions. They beat up on each other during the season so the record for the division winner will probably mean a 3rd seed rather than a 2. That means one extra round of playoffs and going on the road in second round. the road becomes tougher. It also means this division has a tough time having a wild card.

Bastards take division and the other 3 battle for second and just be happy that you don't have a division this tough. I am throwing a dart at the wall for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place predictions as it is that close.

1. Basterds
2. Narann
3. Patriots
4. Rebels

and finally the NC West and the teams participating are

Dragon Tigers are managed by RudeBoi
1.1 Record - Rookie Season
ELO Score: 652

Istanbul Sultans are managed by aydin.guclu
1.1 Record - 2 seasons 8-24
ELO Score: 652

PGI Andorre Solutions are managed by fonset
1.1 Record - 5 seasons 19-61
ELO Score: 718

The Green Machine are managed by jggreen
1.1 Record - 4 seasons 52-12
Divisional Titles - NC West 3 (Season 24-26)
ELO Score: 933

and thomastem's view is

The Green Machine is a beast in the regular season, look for them to repeat as champs and perhaps another undefeated regular season. They are getting the reputation as chokers in the playoffs and the only way to shake that reputation at this point is a trip to the bowl. PGI and the Sultans will be fighting for 2nd and perhaps a wild card spot but can't compete with Green Machine during the regular season. Dragontigers are new and need to complete their stadium and fight to not get relegated.

1. Green Machine
2. PGI
3. Sultans
4. Dragontigers

Nothing much else to say here. Does TGM want that Bowl ring? Can PGI make progress? Are the Sultans on the right track? Are the Tigers just cannon fodder? All these questions will be answered as Season 27 progresses, but we have all seen before that without careful planning some results can get away from you.

thomastem aslo give these predictions for the NC Conference

NC Playoff Forecast

Division Winners

Apes
Fluffy Pink Dolly Bears
Basterds
Green Machine

Wild Cards

Thunder Bolts
PGI Solutions

I predict Green Machine over Basterds in the NC Championship game.

I have to agree with his assessment and agree that the likely Thunder Bowl 27 participants will be Deflators and The Green Machine.

Well thats all from Season 27 Pre-Season Show.

Good luck to all this season and to our new members we say enjoy your stay and learn as much as you can to kick the old boys as often as you can.
