In the States, owners often will schedule various promotions for the season to improve attendance (especially if the team is not expected to be very good) such as T-shirt giveaways, post-game concerts, etc.

Perhaps a similar option for teams struggling to fill the stadium would level the financial playing field a bit, but at a cost because giveaways and shows aren't free. For example, maybe two or three times/season, an owner could choose to spend $25,000 for a T-shirt giveaway that could result in a 0-5% attendance increase (0% because not all promotions are successful). For $50,000, maybe a half-time show that could increase attendance 0-10%.

I like the idea very much, not the math though.

A league home game is ~$8.7M so 5% of that is ~$435K.
Paying $25K for a chance to win $435K sounds like a no-brainer. It'd be more fun if the numbers were closer.

Or if the success is also dependent on the results of the game ie a win will get more people excited and coming to future games while a loss will reduce in a reduced effect in the future as people on the fence are less likely to make use of another deal again.

If this is ever implemented Pete will be the only one to know the real numbers anyway, but yeah, I like the idea of giving teams having a losing season a chance to make a bit more money that way.

I like this idea but agree that there must be a certain risk involved too. perhaps it should also be related to the public relations consultant level.
