I like every idea that makes modifying your playbook easier, however, I don't think that this suggestion will help too much in this regard.

I need to define the situation (down, togo, quarter, time, distance to goalline leading/draw/trailing) and then I need to s e l e c t preset pass/rush instead of selecting formation and blitzing percentage

I think we would save very little time if any if the suggestion was implemented.

What I think takes the most time is the updating and reloading of the playbook especially if you have to scroll down to find the line which you want to add/edit next.

Why not allow the user do
first: switch of auto-update
second allow editing/copying/sorting without saving / updating
third: updating & saving on demand

That would be on own risk for the user if he fails to u p d a t e or his connection was lost, but I really think this could help a lot.

That would be the users risk if he fails to u p d a t e but still I would think it would speed up the process significantly

That would be a huge improvement. Suggest it in another thread

wait, this is "only" about copying a rule? So you click on one rule of the playbook, and create another one, exactly having the same content, below to original rule? And then you change the new rule to whatever you like?

I though my example was clear. I let Bro develop his idea as I have not the energy to do it now. And no, it is not only about copying a rule.

But you can also deactivate a rule and activate it when you want to use it. It's the last icon on the right of the rule.

So you can create a number of rules you can use for passes and rushes and (de)activate as required per game.

It doesn't work for the trouble I try to explain.

When I scout my opponent in league and SC, for the same formation in first down there is a lot of different ways to play it and I cannot make one defensive PB with all this situation and activate/deactivate what I need, it works when you have only a bunch of rules but I had several games this season with at least 20 or 30 lines of specifics rules for only one opponent.

But the rules were different only in the quarter, on down, yards to go; Distance, Goalline, score, clock, on formation. But depending if it's pass or rush I got different formations like Fincyril explain it and all the possibility of treatments you give doesn't respond to this situation and are way longer than a "set pass" and "set rush" buttons near to the "set" button.

It's not about copying a rule, it's about being more efficient to make multiple different rules for your playbook.

If you set all the lines who have the same defensive rules and then move them in your playbook, it takes a lot of times because the page is always reloading (for the user who are on tablet and smartphone) when you use the arrows.

If you set all the possible lines in your PB and activate/deactivate them you got a PB with 100 lines and the problem is the same for activate/deactivate the rules with the page always reloading.

Example :

In my option (or somewhere else), I set my default defensive pass formation to ["pass: 317", "rush: 443", "Blitz LB: 50%", Blitz SF: 15%"] and my defensive rush formation to ["pass: 344", "rush: 52", "Blitz LB: 0%", "Blitz SF: 0%"].

I scout my opponent and I notice than for Big I formation :
- he run when clock at 3 and in the redzone.
- he pass when clock at 7 and in the redzone.
- he run when clock at 11 and in the redzone.
- he pass when clock at 13 and in the redzone.
- he run when clock at any and in the redzone.
- he pass when clock at 3 and anywhere on the field.
- he run when clock at 7 and anywhere on the field.
- he pass when clock at 11 and anywhere on the field.
- he run when clock at 13 and anywhere on the field.
- he pass when clock at any and anywhere on the field.

And it changes at any quarter.

With my proposition, I just have to set formation and the different variations and save a lot of time by clicking on a "set pass" or "set rush" button who avoid me to have to change "use pass formation", "use rush formation", "prefer", "blitz LB %", "blitz SF %" every line (as I already explain why the copy or moving rules are not a gain of time in this situation).

I don't know how to be more understandable without drawing it.

So draw it

It seems I get a first idea. Basically the issue raises because you cannot move rules around when not on the desktop, since the drag&drop doesnt work on smartphones, true?

It's one of the elements yes. But the reloading pages and the huge amount of lines I sometimes need are others.

I will send you by PM a link to one of the defensive playbook I had to use few games ago.

And I will do the drawing when I can. ^^
