Copied from another thread to not hijack Bros suggestion:

What I think takes the most time when doing playbook work is the updating and reloading of the playbook especially if you have to scroll down to find the line which you want to add/edit next.

Why not allow the user do
first: switch of auto-u p d a t e
second allow editing/copying/sorting without saving / updating
third: updating & saving on demand

That would be on own risk for the user if he fails to u p d a t e or his connection was lost, but I really think this could help a lot.

That would be the users risk if he fails to u p d a t e but still I would think it would speed up the process significantly

This no "yes" or "no", just something you have to keep in mind. Right now we give you feedback on every single storage operation, which sometimes result in "failed" for whatever reason. So, today you have to redo 1 rule...if we switch off autoupdate, it might be very well a manager will work for hours, and lose hundreds of rules...

I am aware of this, and that is why I think the best way would be to leave the current way as the standard way to edit a playbook and to allow the "advanced" way without autou p d a t e the user needs to switch a button (with a caption "use at your own risk/just for advanced user" )

I would definitely be willing to take the risk. I redo my playbooks frequently, and there is nothing more annoying than having to scroll back down the page after every operation.

Copy a play
Page refreshes
Scroll back down the page
Hit the edit button
Page refreshes
Scroll back down the page
etc.

It ends up being a LOT of scrolling. I would activate this advanced option in a heartbeat.

Another possible way to handle this would be with clever use of html anchors. Its not so much the auto saving that is an issue, as the need to scroll back down the page after every edit in the table.

Quite simply for me it would save a massive time being able to change multiple lines withi the playbook then save at the end. it would immensly jmprove the enjoyment of the game for me.
