As promised here are my findings.
I looked at the reasons for non-completion ie WR or WB fault and I looked how often they were under pressure. Source: https://i.imgur.com/J10mCXe.png Alex (the better physicals QB) has a slightly higher fault in his incompletions but it's marginal. However he was significantly less pressured when completing throws. In fact half of Boris' overthrown passes were made under pressure so his stats are better when taking that into account. Raw stats here for those who want to dig into this further. |

One of the great mysteries of this game... Why pressure is tied to QB speed I suppose its because speedy QBs stand in the pocket faster

Yeah... I really don't get the QB speed thing in this game. Agility or Experience would make a lot more sense for avoiding pressure. Pressure is really more about the OL, than anything the QB is doing (other than a quick read (should)= Intelligence).

I like to think it has something to do "Level of Fitness %" in game settings. If the second string is regularly outperforming the first string the first string is playing too long.

At that level they must get about equal playing time. In playing too long I'm also referering to the start of the game playing against the opposing starters or fresh second stringers. I imagine it has also to do with the opposition's settings and how long their starters are playing, so it won't be consistent from one game to the next . One thing to keep in mind is this may increase the chances of your second stringer throwing a pick in the first quarter but I think your first stringer will have more opportunities against second stringers and tired players later in the game. .Try a higher %

85 is already pretty high. I usually run around there, and my QBs start swapping back and forth late in the first quarter. Your first string guy does stay in until he reaches that limit, so he faces the fiercest competition (rested first string defense), but once he hits 85%, they pretty much just start flopping back and forth.

Yes but if they both end up with around the same amount of plays it only stands to reason if your first stringer plays less first quarter he's going to make it up somewhere else. Hence a few more plays later in the game.
