In lieu of Cheesehead not doing the MOTW this week we will start with a report on the big game of the week, which saw the Bot P.G.I. take on the Bot DV and winning 28-21 to keep the Bot DV firmly fixed to position 32 in the league.
In the lesser games of the week there was only one divisional match up which was in the AC East where the Jockstraps went to the Dardenelles to face the Whitings and their defence really went to town with 4 (kebab) takeaways, 2 going for TD's plus a safety as they rolled over the Whitings 37-6.
In other matches the Cardinals welcomed Wild Thangs which was beginning to look like a Severn Bore when the score at half time was 3-3. Then the Cardinals offence broke the goal-line for a TD followed very quickly with their defence getting a pick 6 and all of a sudden they were rolling along 16-3 up. Wild Thangs closed the gap with 2 FG's by mid-way through the 4th quarter. Slippery figured RB's were the excitement for the final part of the 4th when firstly the Cardinals returned a fumble 29 yards for a TD, then in the dying seconds Wild Thangs did the same, but for 65 yards. Cardinals win 23-16.
The Whalers gained their 4th win on the bounce with a 34-3 win over the Crushers. The Crushers just couldn't move the ball to be a threat to the ever improving Whalers, who out-gained them by nearly 300 yards.
The Machine visited the Spanish Capital, Madrid, to play the Pirates and when they got their first TD half way through the 1st quarter the question was could the Pirates answer back. Unfortunately FB Uhatahi pulverised the Pirates defensive line for 242 yards and 2 TD's in this 34-13 win. It's lucky the Machine have Uhatahi as they QB threw another 3 picks.
The Hedgehogs visited the Miners in a game where their kicker, Foley, notched up 5 FG's to always keep the scoreboard ticking in their favour in a 22-14 win.
Cougars were hungrier than the Alligators this week as they try to keep pace with the Cardinals. The 1st half was split 10-10 then Cougars started to ramp it up. 2 scores in the 3rd, including a pick 6, gave them a 14 point advantage then after a FG trade off they got another pick 6 to put the icing on the cake in this 34-13 win.
The Mantis visit to Xu Da was like a smash and grab raid. They charged off to a 24-3 lead at the half and extended the lead to 30-6 by the end of the 3rd. Tpal70 then sat through a nervy nail biting 4th quarter when Hongwu's men did everything they could to claw back the deficit with a FG and 2 TD's only to come up short 30-23.
Jinonice played host to Juggernaut getting off to a flyer with 2 pick 6's in the first 5 minutes and closing the 1st half with a lead of 27-7. Juggernaut woke up at the start of the 2nd half with an interception that led to a TD play in the 1st minute and then knocked up 2 FG's to close the gap to 7 points by the end of the 3rd quarter. A FG for Jinonice increased it to 10, but Juggernaut got it down to 3 on a TD with 4:23 to play and must have thought they had a chance to pinch it only for Jinonice to convert an 80 yard TD on the first play after the kick off to finish the game off 37-27.
The Bolts went to northern Italy to play Balenghi, who were hoping that there would not be a repeat of last week's disaster. The Bolts were not in the mood to be lenient as they took a 17-0 lead into half time and then stretched their legs to win 48-10, a pick 6 was included in the 2nd half scoring though they gave up a 70 yard TD to Balenghi.
The Llamas went to Pamplona knowing they would not be seeing a bull run at them and that their air attack had to be better than Pamplona's. It clearly was in the 1st half as they racked up 27 unanswered points. After the baying of the home fans calling for the bulls to be run over their team, the players of Pamplona knew they had to do something. The 3rd quarter saw them score 3 TD's to Lalama's 1TD and a FG to close the gap to 16 points then with 8:42 to go they got within 2 points having scored 2 more TD's, anybody' game!!, but the last score of the game went to the Llamas with a FG to win 40-35.
Narann played host to the Bobble knowing they had to do the same as Deflators did last week, beat the Bobble. After an interception in the 1st quarter Narann went on to score a TD in the next series of plays. In the 2nd quarter the Bobble used the ground game to try and grind the home team down, this led to the tying TD mid-way through the quarter. Narann retook the lead with an FG mid-way through the 3rd, then a lapse of concentration in the backfield led to the Bobble scoring on a 63 yard pass for a TD to lead 14-10 at the end of the 3rd. The 4th quarter saw Narann use the air game to some affect scoring 10 unanswered points for the win 20-14. The Bobble's ground game gained 149 yards, but it was hard fought as Narann's defensive line worked their socks off with 14 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.
The Patriots eased to a 141-0 win over the Bot Ravens.

So after Week 8 The Green Machine remain undefeated and look in total control of the AC North.
The AC East sees the Jockstraps lead by 1 game, their win over the Whitings.
The AC South sees the Alligators and Xu Da only 1 game up on he Hedgehogs, it looks like this division is anybodys.
The AC West sees the Cardianls 2 games up on Cougars, but they have yet to have their bye week.
The NC East sees the Bolts on top with Jinonice with 6 wins each, Jinonice have yet to have their bye week.
The NC North has the Bobble on top with 5 wins with the Whalers on 4, it could be level pegging after next week as the Bobble are on their bye week.
The NC South has Deflators and Narann at 6-1, Patriots at 5-3 and Mantis at 4-3. The only division with all 4 teams showing winning records.
The NC West has the Pirates top with 5 wins and the llamas with 4 wins. The Pirates have still to have their bye week, but play the Bot P.G.I. next so should still be top going into their bye week.

Victor - you like stats - find out what my team, Narann, hasn't doen this season yet, but every other team has.

Transfer News
Crushers - 1 in for 126k
Machine - 3 out for 2M
Miners - 1 out for 50k
Juggernaut - 1 out for 2.5M
Pamplona - 1 out for 101k

Financial Rumours
It appears the Bailiff control of CalMac is helping the audit of the Llamas accounts.

Let me see!

No interceptions thrown? ups, no!! Xu Da still with no interceptions like you.

Sorry I don't find it.

However, What do you think about my low new record?
Lowest time of possession in a game: 15:02

The crazy thing is I scored 35 points.

Interesting tactic 3 and out or long bomb TD

My team has not allowed any takeaways so far this season. That's no interceptions like Xu Da, but also no fumbles lost, 4 fumbles but not lost, unlike Xu Da who have lost one. I should also say this is the same in my Super Cup games so far. I cannot see it lasting as Pete's engine usually knocks up me takeaways at some point, but then again it keeps chucking big TD plays against me.

With yours it would have been better with one more TD for the win with time in possession being one quarter's worth and I don't think you will even have to worry being caught up in a relegation play off battle.

It was shameful! 3 first down in whole game. Very shameful even scoring 5 TD.

hahah time to spend some money in the market? Hire Coaches?

On the other hand, good news. My rookie QB reach the 4th Experience Star.

Sorry for the late post.

I've just realized that I didn't write about the kebab takeaways and it'd be rude not to mention that Cause I really surprised and laughed when I first read

Using the word "kebab" in such a way is very rare but effective. We use it as a synonym of "easy" sometimes. Thank you for sparing time for reviews every week and comic remarks
