it'd be good to know if the penalty is applied to all snaps taken out of position or not.

It is not about where the player makes his snaps, but about the total number of snaps per game. Experience is awarded based on the number of snaps, and we just limited the number of snaps per game and player to gan max possible experience. If a players exceeds this maximum, his gain per snap is just lower...

Got it, thanks

If it's not too complicated to implement, maybe you could limit the experience gain per snap if the player plays out of his natural position? E.g. if an OL plays in the defence, he'd only gain 20% exp he'd gain as OL, a WR as TE would gain 50% as the positions are similar and so on. And his PC would sink faster on the secondary position. Plus the additional out of position limitations that are in place now. That way if someone wants to put a player in the offence and the defence to gain XP, it'd be possible, but there'd be considerable penalties.

What is in place now is not so far of the example you have described...

I have another question about this.

I had a bot game today and this guy was listed as a starting OLB for all snaps and as Gunner and STT as well. He played 96 snaps on defense and 50 plays on special team for a total of 146 snaps. Is this considered above the limit and therefore worthy of a penalty or not? I did not play him on both sides of the ball or at weird positions, just on defense and special team.

A system whereby lower PC screwed over training gains would work but I also don't have a problem with the current system which i think offer a decent simulation without over complicating matters.

That would be an elegant solution.

I don't think Special Teams counts.

25 punts (both teams combined) and 25 Kickoffs (from my team)

It was a bot game, obviously.

But the question stands, was this penalized even though I don't see how this is considered "cheating" or "abusing the system" at all. I just scored a lot against a bot, which all teams who try just a little bit do.

Can I please get a response regarding the case above please?

I really don't feel like I've done anything wrong or unethical/immoral by making a guy play OLB, Gunner and STT so I'd like to know if what I did gets penalized or not.

If it gets penalized I'll use another player at Gunner and STT in order to not lose the snaps but I honestly do not really understand why the above behavior should be penalized in any way. It's completely different from playing a guy OL and LB which seems to be what the penalty was designed for.

I don't know why you think that's the case, but as far back as I can remember, special teams (from STB, STT, Gunner, KR) plays don't count as out of position for defensive or offensive players. I think it's been occasionally mentioned on the forums throughout the years, and in this thread by Pete:

3.) There is no penalty when playing a player as Gunner, Kick returner, Special Team Blocker or Special Team Tackler, no matter what his original position will be
