I can add things to the tanking checks if they are free of any doubts...Mixing a roster a little bit because of a shortage on QB and so on...is no clear tanking IMO. However, it depends on a few other parameters, but I dislike explaining then and creating kind of a tanking manual by this.

I don't think this is tanking and I hope Pete doesn't think so either. ATM, I don't have a WR that can play QB, but I have a CB that can. Currently, I don't have a LB that can play WR, but I have 5 DBs that I'm training that can. Eventually, I hope to have more players that are versatile and can be employed at multiple positions in a pinch.

Can not agree with you gnijkeo since:

You would know that you must suffer from OOP (out of position penalty) then, and if you really want to have a chance to win you would have made the positionswitch from CB to QB for instance. Am I correct!?

So, at least it is somehow suspicious to play CB/WR out of position on a regular basis ... and therefor:

answer B) is correct

yeah i think if it happens regularly and players of the correct positions are available then it is clear tanking. if its a one off or there are injuries then it probably isn't.

This,
and if you have read my next post, this only happens in league games, in supercup the depth chart is fine, this is clearly reducing the chances of winning in the league and not tanking in supercup...therefore, it's tanking

And herein lies the rub its not difficult to tank and hide it whether through depth chart, poor game planning (or expert gameplanning if prefer!). We know it goes on but can't really find an effective way to prove it or stop it.

Just PM Pete.

Send him your observations and related game IDs. He will judge the case.

Your indications will help to improve the algorythm.

And pretty sure, in case of a verified violation of the "Tanking Rule" as per manual, he is also able to set "Tanking Warning Level" manually.

Nope, I've check 5 league games they could have won and this is happening each time, weirdly enough it DOESN'T happen in SuperCup games

I wasn't saying the person you have seen isn't tanking, i mean that it could be difficult for the engine to differentiate between them and someone who has not done this intentionally.
On a different note... Mackems in league 1 next year

LOL, could have been the Pies twice in recent years if we didn't have the right managers in place.
Saying of the day... Have the right manager in place to build their team the right way and get them promoted the right way, I didn't see Rafa play our GK up front once last season

I don't know how detrimental the OOP penalty actually is, but I play players out of position in every game because I don't have a FB. Other times, I have played players out of position due to injury or because I didn't have enough players for specific positions.

Before I had enough depth at DL, LB or SF, I would use other defensive players to fill roles. I went 1 whole season recently without enough LBs and SFs. I still won my division. If you switch players to other positions to avoid the OOP penalty you risk that player losing team chemistry and morale. I rather the OOP penalty in a game or two than trying to rebuild team chemistry and morale over many more games and updates.

I train all my CBs to catch, so in a pinch, they can and could play WR. I even train QBs and WRs in carrying so they can fill in as rushers if necessary. OL train tackling to fill DL. RBs train blocking and catching to fill TE or WR. I've even trained DL in carrying and blocking to fill in for OL and Rushers.

You can't have all the studs and I don't have an unlimited amount of money. I'm just trying to cover as many bases as I can.

And would you still play another player out of position as FB if you had a FB on your roster?

Good one. With 15 OLs on your roster I would make the same statement

Srsly, some supicious cases of "Tanking" are worth to have a closer look by the game administration to be treated accordingly.
