I think it is kind of weird to have a 6-10 team staying in Elite while a 10-6 team is relegated. In my oppinion all the playoff qualifiers must stay at the Elite as a prize and the other 20 teams should be ranked by season record. Then the bottom 16 teams must be relegated (directly or after an extra game as some people are claiming).

The Elite isn't really one league, it's more like 8 mini leagues of 4 teams. That's the intent when Pete created it and it works as intended.
Comparing records from different divisions isn't fair, it's like saying in the Spanish league a team stayed with 30pts but in Italy a team was relegated with 40pts. |

The comparison is about teams that are playing in the same league, where opponents are competing against one another. I (really) know nothing about the Spanish league and the Italian league. So I guess you're going to tell which team in the Spanish league is the opponent of which team in the Italian league, and how often do they meet in a season, and you may add a link to see THE ranking including these teams at the end of the season, of course both competing in the same "not really one league" ? |

As Pete says, he does not want to touch the structure of the leagues. It is 8 mini leagues having their current best 4 in Elite.
A consequence is that again and again managers promote with lots of excitement and come back down demoralised. in the years that I have been here this has been happening a lot. Just this month we lose again two former Elite teams in our region. |

But we do this all the time when it comes to wildcard. So I can not see the problem in doing such thing when we are talking about relegation. |

If you don't have 4 teams per region in Elite then it means teams would have to move region. Pete said before creating the Elite that it would not happen.

Doing like I said we will probably have up to 3 teams relegated in the same region while 1 or even any team relegated in other region. One solution is to have a variable number of promoting spots per region depending on Elite results. But it is probably a bit difficult to implement. In the absence of a better idea, I must agree with you and keep it the way it is... |
