We can safely assume that both will win their division and both will head to the playoffs. And thee they may meet again. Sailors are clear favourites. But KHT is not an easy team to beat and last time they met, it was as tight as can be with the Sailors winning 23-21.

The exact story of our last meeting.....

0:09 2 and 10 to go on opp 24, Darragh Donovan (OC) snaps the ball to Christophe Ndayishimiye (QB), Christophe Ndayishimiye (QB) selected Shalom Dunadamu (WR/L) as target, the pass goes outer left to the receiver, who catches the ball, tackled by Žarko Divac (SS/C), forward progress: 24 yards (Shotgun 4 WR vs. 3-3-5) more
0:01 touchdown more

Last seconds Hail Mary still in the playbook for today match-up

incredible how you won this match. If you look just at the result you think, ok, nor surprise. To me it seemed KHT was always ahead and about to win when entering the last quarter.

KHT was always in control of the match till 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter when they have 24-14 and the ball.....and then an interception, a 55 yards punt return some 3 and out from KHT turn into 21 points for the Sailors, game over.
Great game, Ulero! Somehow we were lucky again to find a way for a late win! See you in the playoffs!

RL Week 3 Headlines
Team of the Week: Rainbow Warriors
Several teams had a strong showing this week, but we give the nod to Ashlee's Rainbow Warriors. This team seems to fly under the radar a bit, but this was a team that was leading for most the entire first half of last season's NC Championship game before a strong 3rd Qtr from DCW ended his season. This week, the Rainbow Warriors demands more attention after stomping the Philly Phoenix 44-17 and followed up with what was essentially a division clinching win against La Spezia Sprugoleans 33-6. And, frankly, the games were even more lopsided than the final scores indicate. Against Worpex, Ashlee struck first and struck often with a 17pt 1st Qtr and a 24pt 3rd Qtr building a 41-3 lead going into the 4th Qtr when the Phoenix managed a couple of garbage time TDs to cut the deficit down some. Similarly, the Rainbow Warriors jumped on Alexmi's team 23-3 during the first half and coasted to a second blowout win to improve to 5-1.

Game of the Week: Constanta Sailors 35, Konjarnik HighTowers 24
Last week I bemoaned the lack of close games. Not much changed this week, but there were a couple of very entertaining games where the final score hid the competitiveness. Enter the game of the week. Ulero's HTs had upset on the mind while battling Marinarul's Sailors. The Sailors didn't have much trouble moving the ball in the 1st Qtr, but a missed FG and a long field stalled out the first two drives. It looked like the Sailors had flipped the field pinning the HighTowers on their own 7 yd line, but Ulero orchestrated a 93yd TD drive with QB Ivan Bugarčić going 8/9 on the drive. The Sailors answered but found themselves trailing 10-7 as the first half approached its end. But give Marinarul credit for taking chances. With 12 seconds remaining, the Sailors went for the TD instead of taking the FG and were rewarded with a 4 yd TD pass from QB André da Rocha to WR Evan Chapa. But what seemed like a momentum changing event didn't phase the HighTowers. Ulero rallied in the 3rd Qtr with two long TD drives while shutting down the Sailors. And the HighTowers were moving the ball again when a crucial 3rd and 3 failed at midfield to end the 3rd qtr. Then the wheels started to come off. After stopping the Sailors and getting the ball back, an INT gave the Sailors a redzone opportunity resulting in a TD, cutting the score to 24-21. Stopped after a short drive, Marinarul took the next possession 59 yards for the game-winning drive, 28-24. But with 4:25 remaining, this wasn't over yet. But Ulero's offense stalled out again and a long 55 yd punt return set up the game icing TD, 35-24.

Other Headlines of Week 3
What looked like the game of the week in the preview turned into a Dortmund Griffin destruction of the Dalton Catamounts, 33-16. The Catamounts defense just couldn't stop the Griffin offense in the first half and dug too much of a hole to get out of. The Griffins first drives went 71 yd (FG), 39 yd (FG), 64 yd (TD), INT, 18 yd (FG) and 57 yd (TD) to run up a 23-0 lead. The Catamounts managed a TD before the end of the half too keep in striking range and a FG on the first drive of the second half. But Alasdaire's offensive juggernaut came back with a 74 yd TD drive. In all, the Griffins only punted the ball one time. Both of these teams will make the playoffs, but the Griffins made a statement. JaGreen needs to find a response.

In what easily could have been the Game of the Week, the Växjö Gladiators AFC picked up a key victory over the Schrodingers Cats, 35-23. This was a well fought game throughout with neither team leading the other by more than a single score until the Gladiators delivered a knockout blow late in the game. The Cats missed out on some early TD opportunities settling for two redzone FGs in the 1st Qtr, including one on a 4th and 1 situation. The Gladiators answered with an 82 yd TD pass from QB Alexander Bäckström to WR Percy Sturgeon to go up 7-6 at the end of the 1st Qtr. Dolfin got the ball back and marched back into FG range but missed the 47 yd attempt, forced RavenCorp to punt and decided to kick another FG after stalling in the redzone. The Gladiators took advantage by scoring another TD late in the first half to go up 14-9. The game went back and forth from there as the Cats finally found the end zone to start the 3rd Qtr and was threatening to do so again when the first critical INT flipped the momentum in favor of the Gladiators who took advantage with another TD. The Cats offense found the endzone again to go up 23-21 early in the 4th qtr. The Gladiators answered in kind and began to look like the last team with the ball was going to win. Down 28-23, the Cats were driving again but threw an INT on the goalline that was returned to the 50 and led to the game-sealing TD drive for RavenCorp. In all, the Cats had 6 redzone possessions, but managed only 2 TDs, 3 FGs and one INT for 23 points. They also got within the 30 two other times but have another INT and a missed FG to show for those two possessions. Dolfin were probably still win the division, but if not, this is a game that will haunt him.

Finally, congratulations to the Bern Marcupilamis for notching their first SD 1 win, dismantling fellow rookie The Beast, 33-3. The Bern Marcupilamis actually fell behind 3-0 in the 1st Qtr. The game got sloppy with the two teams turning the ball over in each other's redzones. At the end of the day, the Marcupilamis were able to overcome their miscues (2 lost fumbles and one INT) whereas the Beast was not so fortunate (5 INTs).

So if everything goes well, I should get tomorrow one of my two necessary wins to avoid relegation.
