The more the better. And any focus can be different.
Cheesehead does basically bracketing stuff from different contributors, including his own of cause. I think it is wrong to think, 'Oh that guy does something, then I don't need to, even if I want to'. Of cause nobody needs 25 predictions of 25 contributors for a single region. But there are a lot of different topics which can be analysed or discussed. The major thing I just wanted to highlight is, that most 'newer' managers in any region, do basically nothing, not even post a 'hey i'm there', not even thinking about some kind of regular contribution. I can understand that, since the reward is not high, likely almost zero. So this has to come from your own passion. Without such stuff, the forum will simply die and with it likely also the majority of the teams. There were many managers, who said in the past, that not the game itself did kept them so long on the page, no it was the effort of several managers. Sure, life goes on and the amount of time for such silly stuff is often limited. I guess that's why it is so important that newer managers should pick up the torch from time to time. If that chain breaks, it's not a good sign. |

It is actually easier to get down than it looks. Keep at it. Let me know if you have any questions since I went through it all very recently. I haven't even started adjusting the playbook settings like I could. What I like about this game is you can get into each aspect a little heavier as you go. I just opened my HR department a couple weeks ago. That definitely took some time but should also be rewarding in the long run. |

Thanks. I haven't bothered even thinking about contracts yet. I played charazay a few years back and this has some similarities so I'm not completely in the dark, but my friends are all going in blind. When should I think about hiring a coach or staff? So far I've just been focused on acquiring a little talent and not going broke.

Awwww but I do so enjoy my conspiracy theories. Oh well. In all seriousness, welcome aboard and I'm actually super glad you're not someone "draft stocking".
 
You can finish your stadium in under a month if you avoid the temptation to spend elsewhere (maxed out mine in 25 days). That'll get you in super healthy financial shape, and then coaches won't have the "will my team go bankrupt" spectre hanging over it, since coaching staff is crazy expensive. Pretty much the only thing I bought early was the L20 scout, and a handful of dirt cheapies off the xfer market, once I had arranged most of my players and saw the most glaring holes. Contracts are a double edged sword ... you could get some "free" players from the transfer market that way, but I honestly wish I'd waited a *bit* longer as it screwed me into keeping about 15 players, that I would have otherwise cut. They'll fall off the roster this coming offseason, but financially waiting probably would've panned out better.
