If it wasn't for winning the Thunder Bowl and going to (CRAP)Elite league I might take more interest in winning, but for now aiming for 8-8 or better without a playbook keeps me stress free.

The fact being I enjoy the training of the guys and seeing if they improve the team or not, my coaches are young enough that there is still 6 or more seasons left in them before changes, the question is can I actually last to complete 50 seasons in the game. This is 37 so only 13 to go.

Dumplings Weekly Review 27th June

So we still have 3 unbeaten teams

This weeks big game match up was Bridges @ Mantis and what a statement made with Bridges winning 37:20 and surely making themselves favourites for the NC Conference The Bridges were quick off the mark putting up 20 first quarter points without reply.

For the other unbeaten teams: Bolts beat a bot and Wild Thangs had a bye week.

Big win for the Comanches winning at Centurians 24:23. The Comanches held off a 4th Quarter comeback which included the Centurians deciding to kick a FG (when 4pts behind) on a 4th and goal on the 2 yard line with only 2.26 left on the clock

In a key NC North match up the Alligators regained the division lead with a win over the Frogs.

In a key NC East match up Pinoys beat Llamas to extend their lead at the top of the division and move to 0.500.

Next weeks BIG GAME match up has two AC division leaders up against each other - Wolflings (5-1) @ Eskimos (4-2)

I will also be watching Xu Da at Deflators - both teams at 6-1

I was never in the game. Down 27-0 before I could get on the board. Wow...what a great team the Bridges are!!!!

Really didn’t expect that outcome but we’ll take it. Interception right away followed up by a long punt return is a lucky way to start a tough matchup. I’m certain that my team won’t be nearly as lucky in the Supercup rematch.

Shout-out to the Waukesha Wolverines for holding my to 0 sacks. I don't see that often, even against the veteran teams that whip me by 30 or more points.

No joke! Your team gets numerous sacks...that is very impressive by the Wolverines!

many thanks. Still learning and still training like crazy to try to be competitive. I have a week off work next week so I might try to develop a play book as I am pretty predictable to play against, I suspect.

I only have 8 of the squad at 3 star now. All the rest are 3.5 or better and I think I know what my 3 star players need to boost them up a level.

I have been very lucky with draft players to date. I have had two beasts in the last two drafts. ;o)

All the best - appreciate the shout out

Paul

What a weird game today against Crushers. These were yards on passing TD's for both teams:

AA 71
AA 4
AA 92
AA 52
ECC 79
AA 59
ECC 89
AA 69
AA 30

So I have up two big TDs as well which never happens. Maybe the sun was shining in the face of the defense?!

I don't finish many games with 7 TDs though so enjoying this one. @Ricki, I would archive this one as an anomaly.

Btw, shout out to my mate Woolybully65 of the Wolverines who destroyed Kokomo Mantis today! What a beating His two QBs had a QB rating of 121.15 and 127 respectively. They certainly are big game players for sure!

And Xu Da moves on! What a game as well, put the game away in 4th Q. I've think I've never seen a Xu Da team that does...well...this!

So we still have 3 unbeaten teams however I'm sure the Bolts were sweating it out as they only got past the Pinoys by 7 points. Stand out player for the Bolts was LB Chakri Chalor who got 5 sacks (of the team total 7) as well as an interception. Half way through the season and this guy already looks like he will win the Thunder league defensive MVP

First big game match up was Wolflings @ Eskimos and in a close 5pt game Wolflings edged it winning 26:21. This was nip and tuck all game but the Wolflings did enough to squeeze out the win. If only the Eskimos could have converted more than 3 of their 13 3rd down attempts then they might have won.

Second big game match up was Xa Du @ Deflators and another great close game. Xa Du now looking like the real deal this year after beating last years elite team 34:31

Shout outs for the Colonel Mustard Moustache Men with a good win against the Frogs, and also to Norfolk Destroyers and their win over the Attack Dogs, and also a stunning victory for the Waukesha Wolverines over Mantis.

Two BIG GAME match ups next week as we have division leaders within each conference playing each other:
AC - Wolflings @ Centurians
NC - Pinoys @ Alligators
