I think really the only difference is that the QB is under center and not back in the shotgun position.

Thanks , and so from the theoretical point of view, comparing this two lineups we should expect SG2WR to be more effective in passing plays and Goalline O in rushing plays...

Tell me please does anyone play something other than Goalline D against Goalline O?

Somehow managed to get to 17-10 and ball on opponent 17. And, of course, next is interception on 6 yards line with a TD after 50 yards interception return.

Definitely not my season.

Definitely to young to play in Elite.

Definitely MOTY with no effect

Just like you I learned it the hard way. Never play Goalline D against Goalline O when far away from you red zone. Except when you play against my team.

Thank you Drogon

From the statistical point of view I can see the difference...
But from the dynamical point of view I cannot still figure out in RZA what could be the difference between this two lineups.
Anyone would help?

4. The Alpin Ducks' stay in Elite may be cut shorter than originally expected, as the team has 1) not performed consistently at the high level we saw last season, and 2) had to fight the new arrival of the Runners, who have had a very good season. They still could very well make the playoffs, which is ridiculous that a playoff team could demote. Maybe we need a change in relegation rules, pete?

It will take a miracle now to stay in Elite and a very strong second half of the season for the PO. Yet I would not complain a lot if I am relegated and still reach the PO. I understand Pete’s logic for the league players renewal even if I would still prefer a relegation game between the 3rd team in Elite and the runner up of level 1 bowl in each region.

Wouldn't the QB be "under center" in Goalline O versus 7-8 yards behind the line in a Shotgun formation?

those drawings were made to provide some basic information of each formation. You cannot tell from it if under center, pocket or whatever

Ergo, the important thing is not "where to be", just "to be"...?

With a bit more than half of the season behind us, let’s have a look, how power ranking and schedule combine for some prognosis about who is here to stay, who will certainly relegate, who we might see in the playoffs and who is still in the battle for it all.

AC East

12. Istanbul Whitings, 6-3
16. Basterds, 5-4
30. Boonley Bulldozers, 2-7
24. Juggernaut, 1-8

With all due respect, I don’t see how the Bulldozers or Juggernaut can turn around their season to stay in Elite. The two top teams seem out of reach by now. The question is, who will win the division to make the playoffs.
Istanbul will probably add two losses against the Ravens and Wilmersdorf. Other than this they should be able to score some more wins, especially against their league rivals. Basterds, on the other hand, have a very tough schedule and there might not be many wins ahead any more besides the probable ones against the top lower division rivals. If I was jetto, I would be happy to have a margin of three wins by now. Can they still get on top ? They could. In order to do this, Basterds would have to win Saturday against the surprise of the season from Catalunya. And they would have to win the return match against Istanbul on July 21st. Best case scenario : Basterds score some huge surprises against the likes of Magpies and Comeback Kids to reach a WC spot. So far they are only one win behind.

Prediction
12. Istanbul Whitings : Division champion
16. Basterds : stay in elite plus eventual wild card spot
30. Boonley Bulldozers : relegation
24. Juggernaut : relegation

AC North

2. Wilmersdorf Wadenbeisser, 8-1
7. PR Chaser, 6-3
20. Lyon Eagles, 4-5
31. Green Bay Hackers, 1-8

Does anyone have doubts about Wilmersdorf winning the division? I don’t. At the same time badgers looks like a strong candidate to go back to the first league. Two questions remain:
1. Can Lyon still reach PR Chaser ? to find the answer to this question you may want to wait until Saturday when both meet for their first encounter of the season. In my view PR Chaser will win and basically settle the relegation in this division. If Lyon wins, this might become a real cliffhanger to be decided only in the last match of the season when they meet again. From here on Lyon has the easier schedule.
2. Will there be a wild card spot for the second of the division? If PR continues to chase wins as before, the first wild card spot should be his. BUT, they do have one of the toughest schedules imaginable with Wilmersdorf, San Diego, Comeback Kids and Hell Hounds

Prediction
2. Wilmersdorf Wadenbeisser : division champion
7. PR Chaser : wild card game possible
20. Lyon Eagles : relegation once again
31. Green Bay Hackers : first relegation ever

AC South

1. Helsinki Gangsters, 9-0
19. Catalunya 1714, 6-3
13. Hell Hounds, 5-4
29. Bonnyrigg Bombsquad, 2-7

In my view Helsinki will not lose a match in regular season and enter the playoffs as the No1 seed of the league. Bonnyrigg bombs out and heads back to league 1. But what will happen between Catalunya and the Hell Hounds? The hounds started with 5 wins. Since then they are on a losing streak and are 0-4 since. For Catalunya it is the opposite. 5-0 before Saturday. And both schedules are not easy at all. I will give it a too close to call. But as I have to decide for the prediction I will go with the famour saying of the former manager and president Uli Hoeness of Bayern Munich “the trend is your friend”.

Prediction
1. Helsinki Gangsters : top league seed for the playoffs
19. Catalunya 1714 : keeps the league plus eventual wild card spot
13. Hell Hounds : relegation
29. Bonnyrigg Bombsquad: sure relegation

AC West
4. Comeback Kids, 8-1
11. BobBoy Magpies, 5-4
15. AS Roma Wolves, 5-4
21. Green Mark Packers, 4-5

Aside the Comeback Kids winning this division anything can happen. This is the closest division so far. At the end it might come down to their direct encounters. But looking at their respective schedule I see the Magpies defending their league position and the Wolves and Packers relegating.

Prediction
4. Comeback Kids: division champion
11. BobBoy Magpies: keeps the league plus eventual wild card spot
21. Green Mark Packers: relegation
15. AS Roma Wolves: relegation

NC East
5. Baltimore Ravens, 8-1
9. Social Distance Runners, 7-2
14. The Alpin Ducks, 5-4
22. Wasteland Wolves, 4-5

It looks all settled. And yet, wait until Saturday as this might change. The Ravens just scored a major win against the Ducks and confirm their top seed for the division. But, they still have four tough matches ahead to meet Istanbul, Bobbers, Wolves, Ducks and Runners. They could end the regular season with only one loss. But it also could turn around fast if morale dropped after a surprising loss. For Runners and Ducks Saturday is a decisive day. In their first match runners won. If they do it again, they would extend their lead to three wins. But Kanar knows the Bavarian team as almost no other and knows how to win against the Runners. With a win, they are just one win apart. Both still play the Ravens and the Wolves. And have one other very difficult match. Runners are likely to lose against San Diego who just destroyed them in a Friendly League match. Ducks need to win against the Bobbers. Anything is possible between these two. And this might not be all. There still are some Wolves lingering, waiting for errors. Wolves need Ducks to win against Runners. If this happens you will see the true qualities of one of the best SeaDevil managers ever. He is able to win against all three of his division rivals. And I would not be surprised if Dragons and Whitings also fall victim to a wolfpack going wild. In my prediction I need to stay optimist for my team. I am far from being convinced though. Many season ago I had a similar situation and messed it all up.

Prediction
5. Baltimore Ravens : division champion
9. Social Distance Runners : first time ever confirming elite and going to the playoffs
14. The Alpin Ducks : relegation but might still go to the playoffs
22. Wasteland Wolves : relegation and missing the playoffs by not much

Let me pray now !

NC North
6. Salt City Pirates, 6-3
8. Inconsistent DragonFire (formerly Black Dragons & Fire Forged Abs of Steel), 6-3
27. Bradford Bulls, 2-7
23. Home Malones, 2-7

We already have some decisions in this division. Bulls and Malones head back to league 1 and Pirates and Dragons battle for the division championship and making the playoffs. While the Dragons are as inconsistent as their current team name suggests, they sure know how to scare any team in the league. Especially the Pirates fell victim by being annihilated in their first match of the season. And it might need the last match of the season to decide the division when both will meet again on August 1st.

Prediction
6. Salt City Pirates : division champion
8. Inconsistent DragonFire : probably make the wild card game
27. Bradford Bulls : relegation
23. Home Malones : relegation

NC South

3. San Diego Blitz, 8-1
18. BU Terriers, 5-4
26. Dumbarajko Elephants, 2-7
Bot Orange Crush, 0-9
Can the Elephants come back after all these close losses and somehow stay in elite? I can imagine them scoring five wins; But I don’t see them winning in their two matches against San Diego. This means, the Terriers need three wins to stay. And they will succeed this. I believe they will win four times out of seven. Not enough for the wild card game but enough to stay. San Diego is untouchable. They might lose one or even two matches, but they can basically start to prepare the playoffs by now. I see them going in as 1st seed of the NC.

Prediction
3. San Diego Blitz : first seed of the conference
18. BU Terriers : confirm to stay in Elite
26. Dumbarajko Elephants : relegation
Bot Orange Crush: the sad end of a great franchise

NC West
10. Chelt Nam Bobbers, 5-4
17. Erudite Linstock, 4-5
28. BSoD, 2-7
25. Werewolves, 1-8

First decision, Werewolves gave up the struggle. They relegate.
Second decision, BSOD joins them. Their only wins were against the Werewolves. Erudite will remain out of reach.
Third decision: the Linstock will remain in second position, secure the league but with no way to get to the playoffs
Fourth decision : The Bobbers, after some mid-season struggle, win the division

Prediction
10. Chelt Nam Bobbers : division champion
17. Erudite Linstock : confirm to stay in Elite
28. BsoD : relegation
25. Werewolves : relegation

I hope you enjoyed this little read up. Do you agree? and more importantly, where do you disagree? What is your vision? Anyway, good luck for this second half of he season !
