So how do you suggest we get a group that does represent the active playing members?

I'm not sure this is possible, whenever I read on the forum that we should all have a minimum number or tights ends and fullbacks, or it's "unrealistic" to use only a small amount of formations, I want to slam my face against the desk in dumbfounded frustration. If a group of people with these sort of views were appointed as community representatives I might have to leave the game
Similarly if the majority of that group held my views, i'm pretty sure that would have a similar affect on many other RZA managers.

Why that?

I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

Haha yeah I don't think discussing things on the forum is perfect but it's kind of like that famous Churchill quote about democracy, "It is the worst system except for every other ones we tried" or something along those lines.

So basically until someone comes up with a better alternative the least bad way of doing it is to discuss things here and let Pete make a decision at the end.

The forum is OK for discussing new features or changes but it does not lend itself to well thought out changes of ideas backed by data where possible. Also threads are often hijacked by posterd (not on purpose) and the subject discussed changes.

The s e l e c t group of a mix of experienced and new managers would be able to discuss in a private forum where Pete himself can often insights or feedback. Plus most importantly, he can start topics on what he thinks is realistic to do / achieve.

If any changes do come out of this group it can be represented in the forum with the rationale behind it.

The idea btw is not to please everyone, as this is impossible, but to get a group of mixed people looking at the game and suggesting changes.

Don't! It does not help with killing frustration, makes your furniture dealer happy, and leaves scars in your face.

My visualisation of an extreme reaction was done for comedic value, but my views stem from the enjoyment I get from seeing individuality in team set-ups.
In real life I like watching the triple option teams (stupid Yellow Jackets gone mainstream!) who basically play Flexbone formation the entire time.
The battles between spread offenses and older-school run 1st offenses is fascinating for me.
My opinion is that it's boring to see everyone playing every formation with very similar squad set-ups, it narrows the game in my view.

I also feel very frustrated when it seems like people don't understand the difference between a formation and a play, you could run a ton of plays from one formation, the defence might be able to get better match-ups over time, they're still not going to know exactly what's coming though, compared to throwing it down one flank out of a ton of formations, I know that's an extreme example, but makes my point.
I understand it all came about because of people disliking seeing teams do nothing but SG4 all game long, I totally understand how annoying it can be, and the feeling they've put very little time into planning their playbook, etc. Going for the total opposite, in my opinion, is just causing the same fundamental issues, they just look different.

If Pete shared private data with such group it would give them an unfair competitive advantage. If Pete didn't share private data with said group I don't see why everything you listed couldn't be done here. This is why the forum is the least bad place to do all of this

It's all good, my desk has a pillow on it, I've been extremely unproductive during lockdown
