What are your current thoughts on maybe reducing the number of regions Pete?

I dislike it for 2 reasons, at least:

1.) There is proof this region reduce does not help with anything but creating lots of work. See RZC, where we did that a few seasons ago

2.) I am not ready to give up regions as long as there are managers in there. And, if I would ever do, the change has to maintain a number of regions that matches the power of 2

Okay, thanks for the response.

20 Credits per user that stays for longer than a few logins was obviously not rewarding enough. We have this incentive since day 0.

Ok, I am putting posts in Maxithlon and eventually in TrophyManager (if they let me). I honestly don't care much about the credits. But if they are there, why not. What does a new manager have to do for me to get them?

He has to login a few times during a few days. And has to have a different Iü address from yours

I just put my first post in the International forum of Maxithlon. I hope it will be read and followed by some. It's a start.

Hi Pete,

I hope you are fine. Reading your replies, I have the feeling, your passion for RZA is ginghams down. If you had enough of it, I would understand. I believe RZA means lots of work and little in income for you.

Would you like RZA to expire or would you prefer that it continues to live and, if possible, to grow ?

All the best to you,
Sascha

Great questions!

Thanks, I am doing well. Of course Corona is affecting me, my family and my dayjob as well, but for the moment I am as fine as it is possible.

My passion for RZA did not diminish. I do not have enough of it. This is why I login daily, several times. You can check that by my response times in the forum.

Right now, RZA is not so much work. From time to time I fix little things behind the curtain, improve things on the server side of things, such stuff. And yes, there is no real income from RZA - which never was the goal btw.

Do I like to expire RZA? No! Check RZC, even with a little over 20 managers it is still running. There are no plans to retire this game, for the moment. I know the day will come, but this day is not today.

Do I like to grow? At least I do not plan things to grow RZA. If it happens, I am fine with. If one comes up with a great idea, and my time and resources allow me to follow the idea without acting against my nogos, let's go.

Let me add another question, which I know is not from you in a direct way, but it kind of hides behind your lines - with or without intention.

Why the heck are you sucker so lazy, do not add features, do not add stuff to make RZA more fun, no engine updates for seasons, you ignore the suggestions board, and overall the stuff is so ugly so hire someone to make it nice. And while you are at it, how about SB ads, they might be cheaper the upcoming super bowl...

So...I am not lazy. It is simple: my sparetime is much less than 5 years ago. It is a simple as that. My dayjob is much more demanding. When I started RZA development, I was head of a department responsible for 4 guys. Today, I am still responsible for the same department, but take care of 18 male and female software developers. Man, I could tell stories... And, I do not see the need for one or another revolution in this game, function-wise. I am quite happy how it worked out so far, and that includes all the glitches that drive some of you (and me) crazy.

And no, I do not ignore the suggestions board. I read every single post in all forums, except forums in languages different than English and German, region forums diffrerent than Galaxy and Elite, and the Transfermarket.

Now, you can imagine there are no money resources to hire external help. Back in the old day I had a partner in crime. Some of you might remember preachie. He worked for free, and joined me on my mission to improve RZA, just for fun!

Oh man, you know I still love you! Thanks, mate!

Btw, we are still in touch, but things changed in his life as well.

I cannot pay someone to add things to RZA, or to run marketing campaigns or whatever. The server get's paid by the fellow supporters (I love you guys, really do), and a few ads we sell inside the game.

So, I hope I answered the questions. Maybe you dislike what you are reading. OK. But take it for granted: those answers are honest.

Pete, do you think perhaps your answers in the forums convey the appearance of boredom because you're answering the same questions you've already answered multiple times already, and that we, as a forum, should probably try coming up with something slightly more original?

Jonny, this could be very well the way it is. So I blame you guys for asking me the same questions for almost 9 years

btw, 2nd of Sep 2020 marks 9 years of public available RZA

Thank you for your replies, Pete. I actually did not believe for a second you were lazy. I am sorry if somehow this sentiment transpired from what I was writing.

I believe, there is a good group of managers who is passionate about this game as much as you are. And there might be some ideas in this group to get us more managers. If some of us get our heads together and come up with ideas, we can maybe add another 100 managers or eventually many more. What was the highest manager count in all this time ?

Glad that the motivation is still there. I am convinced that the game has a potential to gather thousands of managers. We « just » need the good advertising. If someone popular or a mainstream plateforme could talk about it, it may give The game a new dynamic.
