Cheers all...

OK, let's get onto the group previews. Group 1 - 'Mascots' - named after the Free Agent Mascots who were one of THE dominant teams in Elite's early days.

Initial favourites to take this group have to be the Bradford Bulls, still pining it seems for the loss of their Rugby League team's stadium. Thankfully their financial management appears to be far superior to that of the Rugby team, as they are currently 5-1 in Elite with a very small, sensible salary outlay.

2nd place is not so clear cut, the Tampa Bay Bandits look to be marginally ahead of the others but "Lucky" Clem might need to live up to that name, as Berinsfield could have a sting in their tail. Like the Bandits, The Hornets (or "Southern Shandy Drinkers" to give them their name in Bradford) have tasted Elite life a few times, but without success.

Tool look to be a little outmatched here in this group. But at least they will be loud... I just hope they don't give themselves an Aenema on the field...

Ohhhhh!!!! Hahaha! Love it. Laughed as soon as I read it. Cheers to you, sir!! The main game plan I use is called Stinkfist, but something tells me I'm the one that needs to watch my butt in this matchup, lmao! Enjoyed the write up. Thank you.

Nobody else is using it, for now, so we might as well.

Nothing wrong with shandy, it can be a mans drink, even with a twist of lemon and umbrella.

Good work mate, getting 32 teams to sign up.

Nice touch posting the placement of teams with a video!

I don't expect to win against the bigger teams here, but I wanted to celebrate this great game and it should be a fun challenge for me.

Group 2 - 'DRAGONS' - Named after the Black Dragons, Elite league stalwarts, and one of the enigmas of Elite, sublime one day, inept the next. But just about consistent enough to have racked up an impressive career win total in the highest league, including the Bowl in season 15, and many many Divisional titles...

Clear favourites for this group are the Salt City Pirates, one of the current class acts of Elite. They will most likely loot and pillage their way through to the latter stages of the competition with ease, and have to be one of the favourites to claim the overall Cup booty...

Challenging for the 2nd qualification spot we have Pete's Jedis who might need to employ the Force to see off the challenge of the Black Mambas, a relatively new team with a serious bite. Wise old Yoda should prevail.

Languishing at the bottom we have Pizti Beltak, who seem happy to Pizz their credits away for a chance to play some Elite calibre teams...
