Hi, The current hardware RedZone is running on, is about 8 years old. It is a true struggle to deploy updates without taking the whole game offline. So I decided to go for a fresh installation. This means, you might experience RedZone to be unreachable from time to time during the next days. It is - inclduing the monster database - just to big to be moved in one step. First, the underlying operating system will receive its configuration. Once this is done and tested, the database will move. From that point on, you might experience some slowdown of the daily usage of the game. A final step will be to switch the webserver itself. From that point on, the game should run with its usual speed, again. There will be a longer outage, at the time the database itself moves. I will take care not to do that on a league gameday, and I will take care to extend bidding periods for players and coaches a bit. I will inform you in the forum, when this step will happen. Cheers |

On Sunday, Jan 21st, there will be a first step into utilizing the new server. I will move the database to that server. This might take an hour or two. RZA is not available while the database move happens.
As a result the game might feel a bit laggy, since all the data have to be transfered between the database server and the webserver. Luckily, both are inside the same server center. I did that for RedZoneClash already, and it does feel OKish. You will have to live with this for a few days. I will make sure to change the transfer windows of players, so no-one can complain about transfer deadlines are hit during the maintenance. |

OK, database move done. Next step: moving the web stuff. There will be no downtime for this one. We will switch the DNS entries for the web from the old to the new server in the background and dollow the logs closely, if you all make it over to the new server automatically. Once done, the old machinery will be switched off.
I will notify you here once this last step will take place. |

OK, looks promising. I was updating the dns right now, and this means the move is done froma technical point of view. It will take some time for the database to create all indexes and stuff, laggy behavior of the site still possible

It doesn't look like the final game for the Doge friendly cup was generated today...is that just delayed or a server issue?
