Guys a wee thing here, I try to help other New players or Restarting, with advice. I did notice a new guy started a team, When No Head Coach was in Coaches Market so wonder if that could go down as a later closing time? Allowing, if wanting to sign a HC before rollover

Allowing, if wanting to sign a HC before rollover Signing a HC that short prior the rollover AS A NEW MANAGER doesn't seem to be a good idea. The new manager needs to pick up the rules and connections from RZA and at best puts all the money he has into the damn stadium instead of signing a HC, which is useless until you have also at least a single AC. |

My reply is not based on some sort of philosophy.
It's based on how this game works. You start with a team of no-goods, no coaching staff and a stadium of 11100 seats. Every new team gets a quite good income by the mediacenter free period, regardless, when the team starts. Free Mediacenter period is 48 updates, if I remember correctly. But that income brings you only to a certain point, it's max 3 mio per u p d a t e and after 48 weeks, it's zero, if you can't effort the media center pledge, and if so, it's no longer 3 mio X 24 updates as profit, it's much less. The training process does only work, if you add a HC for the limit of CP of your ACs and you have to add a bunch of ACs to have the training effect. Depended on your setup of coaches, that costs you roughly 500.000 to 3 mio per update. Both of those numbers are quite extreme, the sweet spot is between 1 mio and 2 mio for most managers. So, just based on those numbers, the new manager, if he ignores the stadium and goes straight to coaches and all the other staff to improve the training, you get in serious trouble after 48 updates and depended on the training progress inside the roster, even earlier. There is no fun to do it the boring way and start training in the maximum extend AFTER the stadium is full set, but in the beginning an improvement is wise to do. Everyone can play as they like, but I don't see the need to make an exception on the coaches market just that a new manager can hire his 1st coach on a game he likely did not understand to the full extend anyway. |

To put it a different way, coaches cost money right now and produce results over significant periods of time. The loss is training effectiveness of waiting some weeks is close to zero.
You also have to remember that the starting players are not good and most of them will never be good so you need to acquire better players before the training is a great help. Slowing down the construction of the stadium because you have less money is more of a hit than the loss of training value AND it slows the ability to purchase better players who you most want to receive the training. I did this wrong and it still annoys me several years later. Last edited on 2025-09-08 20:47:52 by JohnHW |

Yes I take all that But can you name me a Team that doesn't have a Coach for training - even a fired HC then a team adds a temp - If players have no training set up, then why play sport if all you want is a fancy BIG Stadium - just a wee thing I had thought of as I seen AC on Coaches Market |

It's not that you shouldn't hire coaches, but other things are more important. The stadium is the biggest source of income in the game.
I've seen so many teams that didn't fully upgrade their stadium, and every one of them disappeared after two seasons due to financial problems, with most of them leaving the game. If you only want to play for two seasons, that's one option, but if you want to play longer, it will annoy you the whole time. I think it's great that you want to help new managers. I tried it myself to some degree, but gave up when the people, I wrote to, didn't respond or hadn't logged in a week later. |

This is a game, a management game. It‘s not a simulation.
And if there is any compare to real live, then it is at the start a bunch of pub guys willing to play and it grows into a professional organisation. |

The underlying assumption is that no coaches = no training which for an NFL team would be true: you wouldn’t see Jerry Jones leading the Cowboys round the running track for example. That isn’t true for RZA because we as the owners are effectively the primary coaches. The HC & AC are specialists who boost the effectiveness of our training plans.
