And now comes the next problem.
What about the players already on your roster?
Now all of a sudden your promising OL player ends up being just 1,7m and weighing 53kg.

Sure the basic is interesting but your example is not realistic!

Darrelle Revis is only 180 and R even big ones would be happy to have 3 catches in row against him

of course it is very simple example.
another words

2m WR vs 180 cm CB
target - 18 times
catches - 14
yards - 85

170 cm WR vs 180 cm CB
target - 18 times
catches - 4
yards - 120

I can think of more like "add skill values to base" like in GLB base on H and W and then this skill value come into calculation as is at the moment

But in GBL players have not talant and teamwork!

Turtlemania wrote:
If be possible to change W? Sure another interesting dimension to build player especially from youth academy but could get game to complicate

I think if not possible - it will be better.

Turtlemania wrote:
But complicate is no problem for me but we have to think of all

Of course! We have to think!

Sorry, A big no from me on this one. In today's world there are too many examples of fast and big guys.

You know many sprinters with 120 kg weight?

sfniner08 wrote:
Besides, why would we want to add another layer of complexity in he beginning of this? For new people they already have enough to figure out.

More expirienced guys and manual can help to beginners.

I'm also afraid that an even more complex game would make newbees leave.

American football is the game with most complex rules.

However, if we should implement this I think that the only suitable way would be to make the height and weight fixed. If you combine fixed values (like tw &int) with a manual that defines what's most suitable for each positition, it could be it's easier to choose what position you should give each player in the beginning.

Ok.

Now we can change players` position by drop-box.
We can create same drop-boxes for height and weight.

No. I would make a range for every position with a normal distribution for the hight between two set points.

Example: OL (1,85-2,05m)

I think we don't need this kind of changes.

Normal distribution? "BS" especiall when put height on existing player!

Combination of normal distribution with "luck" of assign height to existing player will make to lot unfair situations where managers will be "pissed"

and Admins will declare "dice rolled" since this was the same i had to hear when i informed about brutal unequal distribution of skill and or traits on player from draft board across the different leagues

This is very critical one when decide to do for how to do

And so longer "we all" wait with this so more unfair it will be and with the wrong formula it will extrapolate unsatisfaction with handling of this new dimension

This can't even be a serious discussion...

Of course, size and weight play an important role in positional assignments... And this should have been an important feature prior to this games release...

It's absolutely necessary or you look just like the site we're trying to branch from...

Most importantly, the size and weight have to mean something or it's just window dressing, and from all the soccer sims I've seen, none of them have incorporated it correctly...

So my opinion is... If the size and weight are just window dressing and moving us to look just like the rest, then just forget it... But if you can actually incorporate an american football game engine that MUST incoporate size and weight... I'm all for it...

Having the ablity, as it is in all european developed games, to use my DL also as a WR is insanity... You want to come anywhere close to an American Football sim, then this is an absolute must, and can be no question...

You nor I are the same size, and subsequently OL and DL nor WR, CB, and S can be the same size...

While God did make all persons in his likeness, that doesn't mean exactly the same...

I would have love to have been a QB, but at 5'8", I was left to choose RB or LB... I chose LB... Choices in life are sometimes dictatated by our stature, and we are all blessed with a stature that makes us the individual we are... At 5'8", would have been insanity to think I could play OL or DL...

This particular flaw in European game deveopment is the single reason I have played many, but stayed in few...

This sums it up pretty good.
