I think we have a bug.
In my last game :ID 102062 there were any missed fielgoal tries. And I found (sorry only in German) in wiki this: Verfehlt der Ball beim Versuch eines Field Goals das Tor, kommt die gegnerische Mannschaft an der bisherigen Line of Scrimmage in Ballbesitz. Translation: In fact of a missed field goal attempt the offense start thier drive at the actual line of scrimmage. But in the game 102062 were these situations: 1) FG try at opp37, FG missed, offense start at own44 2) FG try at opp37, FG missed, offense start at own41 3) FG try at opp45, FG missed, offense start at opp48 4) FG try at opp49, FG missed, offense start at opp44 Please check this, Pete. Thank you Kottan |

NFL rules (from NFL.com)
All field goals attempted (kicker) and missed from beyond the 20-yard line will result in the defensive team taking possession of the ball at the spot of the kick. Just a wiki mistake there Last edited on 2011-12-11 20:45:34 by NYDOGS |

Thank you Kottan It's LoS + 7yards. Moreover your values are wrong here because you forget the 3rd down progress. For example 2) 3rd Down Opp37 for 3 yards - - > FG on Opp 34. |

Nope. He took a wrong definition of missed FG and forgot the 3rd down progress because LoS in not indicated for FG on attempts in Game description

I read the same in nfl.com.
The spot of the kick is the "new" LOS. What I found in wiki isnt the rule of the NFL , maybe valid only in Germany or complete europe. Therefore that isnt a bug. Sorry for this announcement. Kottan |

Those threads do still some good, the show presentation and information flaws.
Also it helps to second guess some stuff from time to time. |

No worries, and no need to say sorry...especially the ruling can be dificult sometimes, with all those different rulesets our american friends are providing to us. Even the players on the field forget sometimes about it...who was that rookie that thought he "downed" the ball in that NFL game? Maybe 1 or 2 seasons ago
