Great job with the spreadsheet. of course I have already startedtweeking some of the stats exactly what you should all be doing... I myself don't even use the values provided on the download... It was simply meant to be a starting point for everyone to use whatever scoring system you desire, and assign the weights as you determine... Glad to hear you are getting some fun out of it.. |

So...I'm trying to tweak the importance of skills...but am having trouble with intelligence.
Do you guys give any relevance to intelligence for say a rb, wr, or dl? I am about to put a big 0 there as I don't see the need to factor it. What do you think? |

My thoughts are these... 1 - every position needs some portion of intell... 2 - rb will need to know where are the open lanes against any particular defensive lineup... 3 - wr will also need to know where the opponents are squatting in zone coverages OL and DL are huge braniacs... Big thugs need love too... Besides if they can recognize the blocking scheme being used it should tell them which way the ball is going... My only point is, it's speculative, and while I would argue all positions need some intel... at this point, it's best guess... |

One thing I've done is input my expected average (perhaps more desired) draftee stats at 21 years of age for each position and labled the name of that player "prototype(position)". That way I can compare how my roster players are doing in relation to a draftee....
just an idea to help someone out... |

I'm pretty sure, that I must have left a conditional format in that turns them white if there are duplicate values for the columns or some blocks of data... In other words if the primary for one player is 100 (as example), check to see if another player has the exact same score... Truth is, you don't need such a format in there and it can be removed by opening the conditional formatting tab s e l e c t manage rules and Change the dropdown from selected to this worksheet and you should be OK to delete any formats that show "duplicate values"... Another truth is that it shouldn't mean a thing and you can just leave it alone until the next u p d a t e to see if it changes back... If this is not your issue at all, then you are welcome to PM me with a more detailed description of what you are seeing... |

I'm not sure of the question exactly, but you can save your existing workbook as a new name file, and have your original and the newly saved one to experiment with... Basically have two of the same workbooks... Does this work for you...??? Or was I even close to what you want... |

I noticed that the ages of some players in the "CareerRatingsProgress" sheet were incorrect. I did a little digging and discovered the following :- the ages were retrieved from 'table2', which is (more or less) Ground Zero.
The obvious problem here is that ground zero is only loaded once ( either when you first initialise the spreadsheet, or when you add the player for the first time after having bought him from the TM or pulled him as a youth player). This means that once a season is rolled over, the players age becomes inaccurate as Ground Zero is (intentionally) frozen in time. The quick fix that I used is to change the reference from "table2" (i.e. Ground Zero) to be a reference to "table3" (i.e. the Roster). Here is exactly what I mean, change from(something like) this =IF(B173="";"";VLOOKUP($B173;table2;4;0)) to something like this =IF(B173="";"";VLOOKUP($B173;table3;4;0)) Hope this helps ....... |
