Stupid question, I know.

But its running in my head.

Is the given position of all the 96 draft boys the best position where they can play or is it possible that another position for anyone is better than the given by draft board?

Thanks
Kottan

I think it's the best one, but they could also play good in other positions

I agree. Sometimes the difference between the 'best' position and another one is quite small. Best example I can think of is any DL draftee with ~35+ Speed. He would be very effective at LB, CB, SF or G instead of at DL if you needed to move him. In fact, the one I'm looking at is rated 2.5* at DL, and 3* at the other positions.

I would definitely consider moving any G to CB and any KR to RB if you get one in the draft.

Thanks for your declaration, Lee.

It helps me a lot. Cause I saw any DLs too and I thought, why is he a DL? He would better be a MLB or a SS.

I don't know how the position ratings are done, of course, but my working hypothesis is that different position ratings (especially CB?) are not equally balanced/weighted (normalized?). It is hard to find any player on your squad who is not rated as high as at CB as he is at his primary position.

Examples:
> Luttazzi, my $11M QB with 25+ Passing and 11.8 Tackling is rated as a 3* CB and a 2.5* QB. Well, he's pretty fast, so maybe that makes a little sense...but then:
> My slowest OL (Speed=19.9) is rated a 2* OL and a 2* CB. (Str=35, Blocking=22, Tackling=10.8) You would not want to play him at CB!

It's no big deal; as long as you realize that the game is very generous when evaluating CBs.

So I ignore position ratings when drafting, as normally only defensive players will have a rating of 3*. I have 15 draftees on my board that the game rated as 3*. 13 are defensive players, 1 is a punter, and the 15th is a speedy WR.

Shut down = Yes
Broke down = not so much

Last comment on ratings: It is fantastic to have them as a guideline, especially for new players. Some games don't do this, or don't do this very well. At the same time, you don't want to rely 100% on game ratings, because sometimes we are smarter.
