First of all, I have absolutely no "data" nor any admin "info" to back this up. This is how I would build my players for the physicals. Kind of like my minimum physical skills and min non physical skills. This is not for optimum, rather minimum. You can agree or disagree, that is your choice to build your players the way you see fit. This is just how I see it.
QB: Strength:35+ (This one would depend on what type of offense you are running. Deep throwing qb's need more strength than those in a west coast offense that is short passes. 35+ for short passes and 40+ for long passes. Speed: ? I don't see too much value as we can't dictate having a running qb at the moment. Agility: 25ish as you want to avoid the rush. Intelligence: Minimum 45. Vision and Passing: 40+ each. Footwork: 20+ RB: Strength: 40+ Speed: 40+ Agility: 30+ Carrying: 40+ Vision: I'm not sure, maybe 25? Catching: I don't know if RB's catch much out of the backfield. Just in case it becomes a realistic possibility I want them at 20+ FB: Same as RB but: Speed: 35+ Carrying: 35+ Blocking: 35+ WR: Speed: 40+ Strength: 30+ Agility: 30+ Carrying: 20+ Vision: 20+ Catching: 40+ TE: I build my TE's just like my FB's except I swap out carrying for catching. For my O Line....
I still don't have a firm grasp on what I want for each position.... I know I want 40+ strength...but I don't know if intelligence factors much into it. I know that I want high agility, just don't know how high...blocking is obviously 40+... |

I thought Footwork was essentially for Tackling and Blocking... So I develop it for my OL and not WRs and RBs but I don't know if it's correct

I am just going by what I would think they would need. I have no privy information as to how any of the skills impact the engine. I'm just taking an educated guess based on real life expectations.
For example: A QB needs really good footwork to be successful in the NFL. For a WR/RB I think I might have changed my mind and take that off. It is more agility than footwork really, in my mind that is. |

You totally forgett positioning. I think it is usefull to be in the right position on the field or run the right route.

Positioning to me seems more like a defensive skill. You have to react, meaning be in the right place at the right time. Offense already knows where it is going. To me, the starting values that many have already in the 10ish range might cover that small amount that may be needed. I won't spend time training it unless I learn something otherwise. |

It is not that hard.
There are physicals, playskills, and tacticals. Each position uses at least 1 item out of each group. Don't underestimate the power of tacticals and physicals. |
