i think that the market as it is now is the best possible to have in an online management game where it is allowed to trade/buy players in some form and nearly all other management games that i have played have this type of player market (except 1 game that had both trades and a free agency market).

This market as it is today is fair to all managers since players are sold 24h a day. sometimes a superstar player is sold at night and sometimes he is sold during the day. its get even in the end i think.

To be successful and stay at the top in a manager game you should put time and effort in and in my eyes this also include in getting up in the middle of the night just to be able to participate in an eventually bid war for a player you want.

After a few seasons all of us will have pretty good developed players and some of these will hit the market. And by looking at the "team distribution i would say that it is pretty equally divided for European and American players. Not that many in Asia tho (yet)i took this up cuze of the time difference)).

As it is now it is:
* Nearly impossible to cheat (due to this max starting bid the seller can place on his player)
* everyone gets a chance to get/bid on a player (if they have/are willing to put in the cash that is needed)
* the player gets evaluated by the community for what price he is worth.

Some of us have lots of free time and others don't, but nothing is fair either if it is in real life or in here.

I agree. Just leave the transfer system as it is.

If you want to add more players or add less players that is a separate topic but anything would be OK with respect to that.

No matter what the system, there will be some people unhappy about it. "You can't make all the people happy all of the time."

I agree, too.

Please let the transfer market as it is.

Every suggestion I wrote the last weeks will not improve the market.

Please donĀ“t try to improve that and in the end you find a worst result. And no one will be happy about this "New Creation".

Just a copy of my original suggestion from the "Transfer further.." topic since this topic seems more lively:

I've thought about this and came up with an idea:

After the deadline is over, there is no "free bidwar time" anymore, no extending the deadline every 2 minutes for every new bid made.

Rather extend the deadline for like 10 minutes (or more or less?).
In these 10(?) minutes only the managers who bid at least once on the player during his bidding peroid, has the ability to make 1 final bid, so 1 final offer for the player.
These final offers are kept private, not visible to others, so no intentional overbidding is possible. Kind of like a private negotiation.
At the end, whoever made the last biggest offer gets the player.

Edit: It could also have a rule to limit the final bidding. So it shouldn't go from 100k (at the end of the deadline) to 10m (in the private bidding) just because someone has a lot of money to burn.

Edit2: Looking back at the voting going on right now, even 12 hours could be a good time for the private negotiations. It would fix the timezone issue at least.

So basically this means:
- no more bid wars
- chance for 1 final bid after deadline
- final bid peroid can be 12-24 hours to fix timezone issues (no need for it if there's only 1 bidder, so transfer becomes immediate)
- only those managers can make a final bid, who took part during the original 3 day bidding peroid
- final bids are not visible to others (no intentional overbidding with "1k" in the last few seconds)
- limits on final bidding for every manager, something like maximum 5 times his original bid in the bidding peroid (notice HIS! original bid, not the last bid on the player, which could be someone elses)
- after bidding is won by a manager, his final offer becomes visible (so if it's suspicious of cheating, 2nd highest final bid gets the player)

Thoughts?

I understand where you are coming from..but how to explain that to a newbee.

"There is a 3 day period for making a bid on the player you want. If other managers made a bid too, they are allowed to place another, final bid after the deadline was hit."...sounds confusing, at least for me.

So I won the auction during the real period, someone made a bid after it, I counterbid, and then manager C is doing his final "after deadline bid", and I am screwed - remember: I won the auction.

And on TOP of that, that manager might have bid in the beginning like 1000$, then let the other bid a mini bid war and after that come back and get the player.
I don't think this would help.

The biggest problem of the market is, that in a new game there are not many trained players sold. That's it.
Every "better" player is NOW very much wanted, because he improves the team significant.
Once there are regular OLD teams and new teams, this should level out.

Regarding HATTRICK system: The economy of that game is totally diffrent.
You can train only ONE skill and then have to get the other positions from the transfer market.
That leads to a very active transfer market, leads to tons of players sold. Here you can train a team almost completly alone.

The coaches addition is a try to give everyone the chance to speed up some position training, which would lead to a more active transfer market with quality players.

The only thing I like at HATRRICK is, that you can see all former transfers with player with that skills and what the manager got.

Well it can always be put into a more simple context in the manual, so even new members can understand it.

Manager C can only bid if he bid during the real period.
And that's what I mean by limiting the final offer that can be made, you can only make 5x your own bid during the real peroid. So if you've won the bidding in the real period, then you're able to make the highest bid in the private bidding. Something like this

During real period:
Manager A bid 10k for player
Manager B bid 20k for player
Manager C bid 35k for player
Manager A big again for 60k for player

Private bidding (5x original bid):
Manager A (60k) -> max 300k
Manager B (20k) -> max 60k
Manager C (35k) -> max 175k

Of course it shouln't be a concrete number like "5x the original bid", and it shouldn't be known to managers to keep them guessing what's the max they can bid on a palayer...or even put in some randomness and every TM player has different numbers (4x, 5x, 6x, 2x), and the bidders get a notice if they made a wrong bid.

i just want to see the minimum bid raise changed to 5% instead of 1k and if possible twice as many FA released to the market each day

A 5% minimum would mean raising a bid of 1,000,000 to 1,050,000 instead of raising it to 1,001,000. It's a start!

But as Admin (among others, I think) has pointed out, nothing stops us from making 50% raises. That's a much faster way to end bidding wars (or at least end my participation in them once my $$ limit is passed). I just have to keep my calculator handy.
