the Admins in -TOG-seem very 'aloof'. They don't seem to want to interact with the forums in a friendly way like Peter does here. So there is no 'leaking' of info, no 'informal' notices and no interaction. The only thing you'll get is official announcements, often 6 or 12 months apart.

It was completely different when I joined -TOG-in the very first season. We had Super Nimda and another admin, and she/he always answered to every single requests, in time. When I was a global moderator over there, we had a lot of chats behind the curtain, and we discussed many different things.

Then, back in late 2009, it seems the ownership changed, and the old admins and developers were not available anymore. That was the point when it became worse regarding communication and updates. Not to mention the drug dealing police officer call....

I'm one of the people here that used to play -TOG-and the difference between -TOG-and RZA is like night and day. I think this game is absolutely brilliant and -TOG-has a looooong way to go to even come close to matching it. The problems with that game are alot deeper than just needing a new engine. It might help to paper over some problems but in the long term the real problems will continue.

I'm still playing in -TOG- the main difference between the two games is that -TOG-is a simple game for dummies (which no one is offended) and RZA is a complete football simulator.

This raises one question: is it possible to have a football simulator for "dummies"? What would happen if I mirror RZA, remove some depth and make some fancy graphics around? Would it be a football simulator anymore? This is intended to be a serious question!

I'm sorry but my knowledge of English does not give me the opportunity to discuss widely.

Fancy graphics are nice, but if it was a choice between graphics OR depth, then that's a no-brainer ..... depth/realism every time.
just keep the RZA realism, and add the fancy graphics ..... win/win !

In fact I know players who do not come here because this is still a very ugly interface

strepitoso and sh8888

It is a fact we lost a lot of players due too much depth, according to my survey I am sending out on each "going bot soon" warning.

Imagine, graphics wouldnt be an issue anymore, would it help to offer something like the "casual mode" GLB is offering? Just a mode where you don't have to go such deep?

But the game of american football is complex to understand if you do not put yourself into it and learn.

Hockey and soccer is much more simple to play online.

im still a -TOG-player and still enjoy the simplicity of it and that was one of its main attractions for me. I have limited time and dont want to spend it all trawling through uneeded stuff.
the V3 engine that is supposed to be starting in next seasons friendlies has its pluses and minus, but i think its needed as the game has become stagnant for a lot of players.

RZA is a more complete sim to most others and probably the best around for depth, scope and vision of the games future. that said i struggle to keep up with the changes and im sure new players are overwhelmed by the depth needed before getting any understanding of the game. to this point i do sometimes wonder if all the little bits and bobs are needed for a game so new and that it wouldnt be better to progress and grow a little slower.

the flashy lights, bells and whistles would be a bonus, but for me graphics aren't everything and gameplay is more important. unfortunately in todays console generation its the otherway around and a sad thing too.

either way keep up the good work and the great community will carry on supporting you.

[edit] i dont think a casual game would be good and probably make the game feel like 2 different games especially if challenging for the same things.
