I think the depth issue is one that will always lose players just as American Football itself sometimes finds it difficult to gain new fans across the world just because of how it is played. As for RZA, I think the game is really good at the moment and adding in a better design and some graphics would greatly benefit and attract/retain more people. This could be more important than adding in new features at the moment.

It is a fact we lost a lot of players due too much depth, according to my survey I am sending out on each "going bot soon" warning.

Imagine, graphics wouldnt be an issue anymore, would it help to offer something like the "casual mode" GLB is offering? Just a mode where you don't have to go such deep?

I don't know what "GLB" is ......

but, I'll answer your question by giving you some examples of my thinking .....
This season, I've really got into American Football more than I ever have. I've been playing Fantasy Football on nfl.com, I've enjoyed it.
Nfl.com doesn't offer as many features/depth as some "paid for" sites (myfantasyleague.com is reagrded as THE best site).
but myfantasyleague is VERY ugly. It puts me off using it. So does the fact that it's a pay site.
nfl.com is great for graphics, and it offers alot of the features of most fantasy websites.
What I found is that initially I joined the "standard nfl-managed leagues" i.e Offense players plus a team defense plus a kicker.
Quite soon, I wanted more ..... so, on nfl.com I joined some "custom leagues" (custom scoring plus individual defensive players if that's what you want).
I liked that, so I wanted even more (I'm so greedy ), so on nfl.com I joined a "Dynasty league" (totally customisable to your choice, league runs year after year).
I could get a Dynasty on myfantasyleague.com with slightly more features (salary cap etc etc), but this will do for me now.

I think the key to keeping newbies is to ensure that at the very start there are some things already done for them (a basic playbook, basic team instructions, maybe even a "lower division cup" so they can have a chance of achieveing something quite quickly.
However, I think you need to keep the depth/realism so that the more established players still have something to try and conquer.
It's not easy, it's a question of getting a balance ...... playable from the very start, but rewards for those who take the time and effort to learn how it all works.

Don't waste your time on this either. The game is dying.

This is slightly off-topic, but ........

I much much prefer the SuperCup in RZA to the Regional Cup in -TOG-
With the SuperCup, you get 15 games .... excellent for 2 reasons (a) experience playing against better teams (b) some good paydays when you're away to a big team.
In -TOG- if you're a low-division team you could easily get drawn against a good team and get knocked out almost immediately.
This year, I think I had a bye followed by a Bot team followed by a home loss(in my small stadium) against a good team ..... so, no fun in the cup and no money either.

We cannot go back to a more simple game as the old managers would be very disappointed... And the pace of the games imrpovement comes from Peter and also from all the suggestion from a very active community...

For sure, there is too much depth for most of AF sim players in RZA and we miss some of them who prefer to play games like -TOG-

RZA is quite time consuming and is only a game for passionate at the end... So the community won't be IMO the biggest of AF sims but we'll have the more active one and enjoyable... It already occurs in server overloads because of the dedication of the players and also in the rate of Supporter accounts...

That's not really a -TOG- GLB or whatever competitor but more a game which tends to offer you a full package of AF management with many ways to do it! It's the biggest brake in RZA growth in term of managers but it will also keep the manager interested and motivated for much longer...

Pros and Cons are debatable but RZA shouldn't change it spirit!

'nuff said.

Also a prettier interface would attract and keep managers as well, despite the depth. But I'm sure after Peter implements all the necessarry things he wants, this will become top priority. Altough we don't make it easier for him with all the suggestions rolling in 24/7

Personally, if I have to decide between feature and fluff, I will go the feature

However, I am in touch with a friendly user here, to create some small graphics. As I did several times, I admit once more: graphics is not my party, I am total noob on design things.

Sure about that?

If someone really wants to play some football simulation, he will play no matter is it monochrome clean website, or pimped flash animated menus with scrolling, fading and etc. shit

Fact - would be nice to have a little bit easier interface, but it's not as most needed as the depth and tactical itself.

Ever heard about Hattrick? It's largest browser football (soccer) manager. Hattrick needed 4 years to finally make some cool interface.
