I just re-read the fan shop section of the manual. I've got a few questions .......

at what stadium size does the fan shop become financially attractive (20000 , 80000 , over 100000) ???
also, do you need to employ a level 20 pr consultant for the fan shop to be effective ??
Would I be correct in thinking that if you have a large stadium and a high-level pr consultant, the fan shop can make quite a decent amount of money ??
Thanks in advance for any manager's feedback/opinion on the fan shop

The only thing i can say for sure:

20 PR consultant is latest definetely a must have when stadium > 40.000 seats (even if all are regular seats)

I hired my 20 PR consultants with a stadium of around 20.000 (mix with vip and business seats)

You get more attendance, so more income and this pays PR consultant easily and gives you net more income overall over the season

And PR consultants is a "all or nothing" decision imo

I open the fanshop, when I had the full stadium. You need some money to purchase the articles. It is good, when you can purchase the arcticles for the lowest prize.

The income of the stadium is more important than the income from the fanshop. The income for the fanshop is for me only a small bonus.

i bought fan shop when i maxed stadium and was actually the last thing i bought.

having plenty of money to suppy it is also a must, no point buying the minimum amount.

The fanshop can provide a basic "insurance" for the long and boring offseason, the manager should keep this in mind

On days with no games I have a benefit of 20000-30000$. So it is only a small insurance.

The problem with the fanshop is, that you must invest first money in articles and get more money back over a long period.

For example: You buy stuff for 2Mio.$ and sell all for 3Mio$. It need a long time before you make a "real" benefit. The 2 Mio.$ you can't put in your stadium. If you put the 2Mio$ in the stadium, you will get this money "back" in a few weeks (for sure not in the offseason).

This really has to be a nobrainer

I'm guessing that if you've got a Fan Shop and your stadium capacity is temporarily reduced (during stadium construction) the sales at the fan shop are reduced by a similar proportion ?

also, do sales at the fan shop reduce during the off-season ?

Thanks.

I don't think Fan shop sales are based on your stadium size but only on your PR, results and a random factor... (just for dailyy sales)

But you were right, attendance is also a factor for the sales during gamedays at home...

OK ... that's interesting.

Peter, please could Admin confirm the factors that do/do not affect your fan shop sales, I'm thinking of getting into the retail business, but before I become the next WalMart I'd like to know what I'm getting myself in for
