I’m not advocating gambling on any RZA games, but I big thing that gets talked about in gambling and non-gambling circles in Football is the betting line or point spread. Currently, when you click on a game beforehand, you get a print out of both teams Offense, Defense, ST and Overall ratings. I think it would be really cool to take these parameters, plus home field considerations and maybe team records and generate an artificial point spread for each game.
Obviously, this would be a fun enhancement - - certainly a luxury rather than a necessity. Steve |

I think the problem is - beside the fact that even Pete's days only have 24 hours and he still got only two hands - that the concept of point spread betting isn't really known over here.
I mean, I understand what 14-point-underdog means, but I don't how this is "measured" (Just the bookies opinion?) and how to handle this information when it comes to a bet... |

I think even something simple like a predicted final score could be fun. It isn't really useful, just to add to the realism. |

In football, odds aren't used to even out the betting on a game. In stead, there's usually a point spread (determined by legal sports books in Las Vegas) - - so like the Patriots are a 2 1/2 point favorite over the Giants in the Super Bowl. New England needs to win by 3 points for bettors to get paid off.
So the non-gambling community use this as a measure of how close a game this is and whose a better team. This differs from a lot of other sports betting - - like the ponies where you get 3-1 odds or something. Steve SD Blitz |

What would be my task on this? As i understood the topic, your task would be to implement a "guessing"-function to determin the chances of a win and then put this in a spread number. This can get a complex and cpu-intensive as rocket science. |
