I know this sounds geeky, but it is what it is.

Will it ever be possible to export the game data in the form of an excel that shows formation used and formation used for defense. It would also have the result of the play.

Could you fake such a sheet, how it should look like? What should be included?

Well I suppose it could be one of 2 things...

Either...

A copy of the text of the game that essentially contains the beginning and end of each play....

example 14:52 1 and 10 to go on own 35,  forward progress: 6 yards(I-formation vs. 4-4-3). The extra information wouldn't be exported.

Another option is to have a composite like the first stat page but include a breakdown of what down and yards to go it is.

1-2 information is missing

what type: rush/pass
when it was blitz: just state blitz within
sack should mention also as interception, fumble etc

example

14:52 1 and 10 to go on own 35, pass, blitz, forward progress: 6 yards(I-formation vs. 4-4-3)

14:45 2 and 10 to go on own 41, rush, forward progress: 4 yards(I-formation vs. 5-3-3)

Yes Turtle, that is good information to have.

There are 2 purposes for this.

1. To collect data to see how your team performs in different circumstances.

2. To scout other teams.

Yes, we could manually input the information from each game, but I think even the most hardcore owners would think that very tedious.

Ideally it would be something like in GLB where you can sort the information on the site. However that requires a lot of work. I thought the ability to export to an excel sheet would be a nice compromise so that we can each sort the information how we would need. Could be a supporter option as well.

I would like to have it in a different way! I would like to write an interface, where you can gather those data, as player data and so on as well...by this, software guys could write software. We can extend this to a more sophisticated playbook manager and so on...But: My part would be the interface, ONLY.

I think Pete is on the right track with this thing, but I wanted to mention to those interested and with a little knowledge of excel, that it is possible to do exactly what was suggested even now...

I'll try to be precise here:
Open excel (if the option to enable data shows up you will need to do so)
on an empty sheet, click block A-1
next click the data tab
you should see an option to get external data from: ACCESS, WEB, TEXT, and maybe OTHER SOURCES
Click FROM WEB... this opens a new browser (your homepage) in a new window
type in redzoneaction.org to get to the site...
you can drag the bottom right corner of the window to open it larger, since you will need to log-in (yes again)
log-in
go to games and s e l e c t the game you wish to see the data for...
in this window you will notice the yellow arrows on the left...
s e l e c t the third one down and notice it changes to a green check mark...
s e l e c t import... it should ask if you want it imported into block a:1, say yes...
once it's all imported, you should see something like what you saw on your game center page...

This is only possible with games played, and I wanted to add this to the evaluation worksheet, but cannot get the macro to log me in correctly (confounded thing).... Still working on it...

Also, this neat little feature will work on any page that we have access to, meaning you could download your team stats page as well... You can download your front office, all simply by checking on which table of info you want and turning the little yellow arrow to green check... Now get out there and play with it... I just can't get it to do it automatically, since I can't get the automatic log-in to work... Some macro genius is going to have to help with that one...

Besides manually moving the cells around is there a way to sort them by down?

yeah buddy there would be, but I just haven't gotten into any details on how to shorten the lines (I mean extract off and def useful info), and I haven't even begun to try to tabulate any of the info...

just thought you guys might be interested to know how to download stuff... we'll all get smarter in excel, if nothing else...
