Tidewater Texans @ Lucea Cardinals

6:58 1 and 10 to go on opp 15, Laudalino Danjuma (OC) snaps the ball to Devan Sutherland (QB), who hands off to Stevie Collins (FB/R), this seems to be a run over the left tackle, Kyle Yoder (DE/R) breaks through, Jarek Robinson (TE/L) blocks, Stevie Collins (FB/R) fumbles, recovered by Kyle Yoder (DE/R) (Shotgun 2 WR vs. 4-3-4)

1:48 1 and 10 to go on own 42, Laudalino Danjuma (OC) snaps the ball to Devan Sutherland (QB), hands off to Stevie Collins (FB/R), he starts running over the left tackle, Stevie Collins (FB/R) fumbles, but recovers the ball, forward progress: tackle for loss of 1 yards (Shotgun 2 WR vs. 4-3-4)

13:48 1 and 10 to go on own 46, Laudalino Danjuma (OC) snaps the ball to Devan Sutherland (QB), Ennis Richards (HB/C) gets the ball, this seems to be a run over the left end, Jimmy Rowley (DE/R) breaks through, Ennis Richards (HB/C) fumbles, but recovers the ball, forward progress: no gain (I-formation vs. 5-3-3)

10:55 1 and 10 to go on own 29, Laudalino Danjuma (OC) snaps the ball to Jecha Sesay (QB), who hands off to Ennis Richards (HB/C), this seems to be a run over the right guard, Ennis Richards (HB/C) fumbles, but recovers the ball, forward progress: tackle for loss of 1 yards (I-formation vs. 5-3-3)

Offense stats:

Ennis Richards 2 Fumbles 0 Fumble recoveries
Stevie Collins 2 Fumbles 0 Fumble recoveries

If a player recovers his own fumble, that it is not mentioned in the stats. I think this is a bug.

I don't know for sure how it is handled in the NFL, at least in NCAA rules they write down the fumble and the recovery, even it is the same person.

In the NFL:

If a player fumbles the ball and the same player recovers the ball he gets 1 for fumble and 1 for fumble recovered in his stats.

Disscussion Fumble recoveries (Page 2)

It was there. I will check the NFL stats again.

In the stats on the NFL homepage and on ESPN funble recoveries are not logged for offensive players.

Instead, you will see:

'Fumbles' and 'Fumbles Lost' - where fumbles lost means the defense recovered the ball. Then the individual defensive players get the credit for the fumble recovery on their stats.

This is right for the player stats, but not for the game stats.

One example:

My conclusion is:

We have no lost fumble. So in the stats for every player it should mentioned if he recovered the ball or not.

If you see in the stats for a RB 2 fumbles but no recoveries, you don't know if he recovered or lost the ball. You would assume, that he lost the ball twice, but this is not true.

My suggestion:

- change the end of game stats page to show:

offense fumbles/fumbles recovered by offense
defense fumbles forced/fumbles recovered by defense

Change the 'fumbles recovered' stat in individual offense player statistics to 'fumbles lost'

Currently the game assume that the runner recovers their own fumbles, that is clearly not true in real life, and to always credit a running back who has fumbled the ball with a fumble recovery is, in my opinion, wrong.

For me, the way the NFL page and ESPN page display player stats is pretty definitive, and we should strive to make our stats here as similar, and therefore 'authentic' feeling.

While we are on about stats, any chance of separate punt return/kick return stats? Or field goals being broken down by distance, instead of showing the average?
