I think the non-football staff is under utilized in the current set of the game. I dont understand the metrics of what a Level 10 scout can do compared to what a level 20 scout can do. And the overall function of a level 10 scout and a level 20 scout is the same except in how quality the information is provided. I dont like that.

I've thought about a way to change this so let me know what you all think.

First I think instead of having scouts/medical staff/PR labeled lvl 1-20.. I think they should be Levels 1-5 with each level offering something distinct but a with dramatic increase in the cost. Just an overview on that... It would be totally unsustainable for even the highest grossing teams to have all level 5 non-football staff AND max coaching CP allotment.

To keep it short I'll only start with the Scout since I feel this will probably be the one with the most drastic changes.

Level 1 Scout
-The manager can see all the names of the players for any team of which he is in the same League.
-Can see all available players in the draft

Level 2 Scout
-Can see the names of players from any manager
-Can see the detailed scouting reports of the top players for any team within their league (as long as they have played atleast one senior game)
-Can see match reports for games withing their division
-Can see the injury reports for teams within the division

Level 3 Scout
-Can see the detailed scouting report of the top players from any manager within the game (as long as they have played atleast one senior game).
-Can see the depth chart of any manager within their division
-can see the injury report for every manager.

Level 4 Scout
-Able to see the full scouting report of for every team of every player within their league (as long as they have played atleast one senior game).
-Can see the depth chart of every manager within the game
-Can see the match reports from all games in every league

Level 5 Scout
-Can see the full scouting report of every player on every team (as long as they have played atleast one senior game).

This method is treating the scout as the eyes and ears outside the teams practice facilities. Its a graduation with clear qualities. With a Level 1 scout the team is basically blind to everything outside of their own bubble but the progression is a Level 5 scout can see the details of everything from the other managers except financial details and the playbook itself.

The draft would work basically the same way in that all managers have to pay to get the scouting reports of the draftees and Level 1 scout get a less detailed report than a higher level scout. The TM would change fundamentally in that a manager with a level 5 scout would be able to see the full detailed report of every player on the market who is not a Free Agent or YA member (which they will have to pay to get just like any draftee).

Its not exactly a well flushed out idea but you kinda get the gist of it. If you feel this is going some place I'd like to hear what tweaks you have in mind or if you dont feel this would improve how we treat the non-football staff thats cool too.

I've got ideas on how to change the PR and Medical staff as with given the same Level parameters but first things first.

Scouts also influence the quality of our youth pull, don't forget that.

Regarding this suggestion, I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but I'm seriously curious how this could screw up the economy in later seasons, when 40ish skill players become more regular. Especially with the drastic increase per level you're suggesting.

But if this is happening, what I'd like to see is a scout report showing yellow/red marks as well. Like watching past games compared to present ones a scout could easly figure out if a player's developement slowed down or stopped altogether. Maybe make these reports more expensive?

They already give caps in STR, SPE when you have a level 20 scout

Huh. Well I have a level 20 scout and the report didn't show any yellow mark for a TM player I bid on. The payer's manager even PMed me not to go nuts on the bidding since his strength will cap at 37. I'm not pointing fingers, but either you're wrong, that guy lied to influence the bidding, or I've found a bug.

I checked and you're right, it doesn's seem to be on the scout report... I was sure of it... Luckily I didn't buy players based on that...

You don't get caps in a scout report of a player, rather the scout level allows you to see the caps earlier if it is already your player.

Of course if (I was the one who pm'd him) I lied I wouldn't gain anything by it, lol. Less money?
