Thinking of the TM I've got a quite "crazy idea" for stopping bid wars and don't force you to be on your screen during the end of the auction...

When bidding on players, you put a blind bid and all we can see is the number and name of bidders. Yu can change it until the end of the auction...

Bids are then revealed and the highest win (he doesn't pay his current blind bid but just 1K more than the second bid)...

I know it's quite a crazy suggestion that won't please many managers but I find that fun!

You just put the amount you're ready to pay for the player without showing it... Each manager does the same and at the end all the amounts are revealed...

I understand a one time bid highest would win but no one would know who won till the end of the bid.
I dislike but I do think that the maximum on a bid should be 100% instead of 50% it would make these bid war go a lot quicker
that mean the bid can double ever time.

I wrote this idea some weeks ago.
The only point I don't like is this:

If you bid 50 millions and win the auction, you should pay 50 millions even the second offerer has bid 20.

I had suggested him the nearly the same - just with one difference:

Pay as premium the half of the difference between the second highest and the one you wanted to pay

In your example the winner would have to pay 35 Million

Just paying 1K mor ethan the 2nd bid would avoid cheating from 2 "friends teams"... That's only why I suggested it

The idea behind is not bad!

On the other hand this would lead to:

The richest team has a sure shot - the question is only how much does the second richest have - "a bit boring"

I don't agree with you: you'r a rich team and see ten bids for a player, no one of those by rich teams. It' simple for you to bid 50 millions, with your proposal you will pay only a bit over the best (poor) bid.

If you want a player, you have to pay what you bid and this is the real trial of such a system.

I agree with the original suggestion.

The biggest flaw I am finding with the current suggestion is the max 50% increase.

For example, I bid 900k on a player just before I left for work last night, it was the most allowable under the current system. I got home 15-20mins after the deadline, to find he had gone for about 1m less than I would have paid for him, had I been able to be online.

And as for the '1k more than the next highest bid', that's ok with me. I doubt it will see any significant price reductions, and will probable result in more stable player valuations.
