If his skills arent to high...you could just kick/sell him, develop your stadium and join the transfer market / draft board at season end...

Just a question that may help him, and maybe me too.

Is it legal to sell the player, ask a certain coach to buy him, then have that coach sell him back? Would that reset the contract so he could offer him a new deal all over again this year? Obviously someone else could outbid them, but it's a thought. Of course, if he's a good player, it may cost too much. Also, it would depend on how trustworthy the other coach is, since he'd have no obligation to resell him.

I have a similar issue. I ran out of contract bids on my QB, so he is leaving after this year. Apparently offering him a little more than the estimated wage wasn't good enough for him. First time I've lost a contract player like this. It would be great if I could keep him, even if I have to pay some extra money for him.

If that's frowned upon, I understand.

Well there is no guarantee that the particular coach in question would even win the bidding.

Yes you're right. Like I said, they could get outbid, depends on how good the player is. Many decent players sell for less than 10K, but if he's as good as a drafted player then it it may not be worth the risk. You also need to make sure that the other coach will be online when the auction ends, to make sure nobody outbids them.

Then you have to hope someone doesn't bid more than the other coach has...and then you have to hope you have enough to buy him back vs other managers....and then...

As you see there are far too many variables that way.

It comes down to one choice....

You either keep him and choke on the salary

or

sell him.

So is he very important to your long range plans? If so then keep him. IF not, then I would sell him. There aren't many players that aren't replaceable on a roster at this point. I would venture that on most rosters there are fewer than 10 players they can't replace in some way.

You pretty much agreed with my points on how risky it might be, so I agree with your agreement.

I don't think it's too hard to do, but there are enough issues with it where it may not be worth the effort for him. I was just pointing out a different possiblilty for him.

I agree with the agreement of my agreement. lol. I was just offering more reasons why it is not worth it.

Too bad you have to let him go, but at least you're looking at a nice payday.
