as i take a look a past games, i can say:
there is no pass play at stuttgart!

ok, i must say that all team members involved in pass plays suck. even in comparison with weaker teams, passes don´t work any better. that´s why i set my playbook to "real heavy rush".
beside improving player skills itself, i am looking for a way to improve that. for sure deep passes are more difficult to execute than short ones. i was wondering if there are "easy passes" in RZA. beside of the depth, i thought maybe short outside hooks or curls could be easier than slants and drag to the inside, with a bunch of defenders around...?!

i would like to frame a few questions to make it easier for you guys to answer:

1) if you set your playbook on "pass + any directions", does it have any effect on the depth of the pass? or does it just tells the QB:"go for any open receiver"

2) does the choice of formation has anything to do with the success or difficulty of passes?

3) in the playbook settings i can only choose the depth and direction/ sector (e.g. left and middle). but i can´t say, always go for my go-to-guy, right? by not knowing individual play calls and routes, i do not have a bearing on which receiver the QB chooses in the end, do i?
example playbook rule: (...) i-formation, pass, right flank
the receiver could be the right WR and also TE on a outside route, right?

I have some experience with "pass" and "medium pass" settings:

pass: higher completion rate, less interceptions, less Catch and run for a TD

medium pass: low completion rate, more interceptions, most caught passes = TD

to the best of my knowledge ....

1) If you use "Pass" the QB tries to throw for a first down. So this is the default setting for short passing, and the safest...but also goes for short yards. I seldom get more than 8 or 9 yards, and average about 4 per pass attempt. Yes - the QB will try to throw to whoever he can find.

2) My feeling is that the defense formation is more important than the offense formation. You can pass successfully from any formation, if the defense is expecting a run. (Exception: If you have better TEs than WRs, look for 2 TE formations. If you only have 3 good WRs, avoid Shotgun - 4 WR).

3) The only time you can rely on which receiver is on left or right is at the start of the game, before they tire, or by using the do not substitute settings. For instance - if you want to throw to your best WR to start the game, put him on top of your WR depth chart and throw passes to the left. If you want to throw to him on the right, you will need to check the appropriate FORMATION when setting you depth chart.

Your example: I believe you are correct.

My advice: Passing is dangerous and difficult so you should use it sparingly in key matches. Test it like crazy in friendlies or against botteams. I almost always throw some passes to try and keep the defense off balance. But I have a draftee QB with very high Intel, and I tend to avoid medium and deep passes, which limits the risk something bad will happen.

My last games statistics against a Team the went unbeaten last Season:

Yards
me : 254 yards
him: 242 yards

Rush yards
me: 162 yards
him: 239 yards

Passing yards
me: 92 yards
him: 3 yards

I think passing is possible now, i put up 1/3 of my offenseplays on the passing end and i don´t think thats an error.

... or in normal games, if you lead with 20 or more points.

i will set my playbook to more pass plays in certain situations. i didn´t keep in mind becoming to predictable with "heavy rushing".

try entering or creating a power mode friendly cup and see how much better passing gets when you have the skills to make it work
