Hi all, new to the game and loving it.

Draft question as stated, If i want to draft a certain position eg RB,is there a way i can arrange the draft order in an order to:

a) guarentee i draft a RB
b) guarentee i dont draft 2x RB or even worse 3x RB.

or is there quite a bit of luck (judgement) involved.

at the moment this is not an issue for my team, i'll take anybody, but is it an issue for teams with good starting players?

sorry if this has been covered before.

You cannot be sure, but by assigning rounds to the players, you can help avoiding it... Check the manual for further information on rounds... Because a mistake there could be costly

To be simple, the easiest way would be :

Put all you RBs at the end of the draft order (with the best at the top of RBs) and assign 1st round for them... (with any or other rounds for other players)... They'll be checked first for 1st round and last for other rounds so you shouldn't have two RBs...

I think it would help to check on the availability of each position, in this draft there are 10 RB's available, so chances would seem to be good to get one. And fairly good imo that you wouldnt get 2.

That's the way it works best.
Problem with that is, you might end up with a RB not worth a first round pick, since all real first rounder did get drafted before you.
Still ... I think this is the only way to get on for pretty sure in the first round and only one for pretty sure in all rounds.

The thing is, people value players differently and you have the uncertainty if bots are drafting in the top part of the draft. For example, myself as well as many here got there number one choices regardless of where they drafted (I was in the low 20's). If we valued players the same it would be impossible for everyone to get their top choice. I just put the players in order of how I value them. The best players in my last two drafts were lb's. So, my lb core is awesome, perhaps among the best in the game. If I were to pick another one up I'd offer him on the TM and pick up another draftee type I needed on the TM later on. This is just one way of going about it.

Thanks guys. so basically if you want a specific position you may have reach a bit with your pick.

So overall it may just be better to pick best available?

Thanks again.

As sfniner08 , the manager of Niners 4 eva,SF 49ers,New Here,5 Time ....blah de blah blah said
I`m still a noob but when I joined season rollover was upon me , hence a lot of forum searching (extaordinary amounts) , helpful guideance(extraordinary amounts) ,and the draft was just around the corner .
Even now there is discussions persay "We want to pass" .(Even though the majority know at the moment It`s a Run Advantageous game)
I drafted 2 top RBs = very happy with that and will build my team accordingly(As far as I can see a lot is still up in the air at the moment everyone has their own agenda) .
I was determined to get a RB .Didnt understand the system properly but 1 for me good,2 great .Now people will say ......
Only messin 49er btw

I would definitely consider 'best available' for your first two drafts. btw - I weight and rank on Intel, Speed, Strength, Teamwork, Talent and Age. And I seem to change the weighting every time I look at it.

By your 3rd season you will see a few obvious weak areas, so that's probably the time to start looking for specific positions.

Also - don't overlook Gunners - my top two DBs were both drafted as Gunners.
