And you are giving bad info. Just because your 32 year old veteran with 4* experience can catch the ball, doesn't mean a guy with more intelligence and speed wouldn't be better.

This is a perfect example of an anecdotal fallacy. One years stats for one veteran player is not "facts and figures". Its an anecdote.

I'm not sorry at all but I will not help you as I am not the therapist.

That was a conclusion. Just try to read and understand it.

Making him a MLB depends on whether you are blitzing a lot, he is certainly too slow to do that,

No SPE: 42.3 (red) is not "too slow to do that".
My three MLBs in S24

Marius Pouliquen SPE 36,1 (cap)
16 sacks

Zachary Kieffer SPE 39 (cap)
8 sacks

Ismaël Marin SPE 39,3 (near cap)
7 sacks

Normal is just relative.

Sorry but these stats without any perspective are extremely misleading.

Having good Speed compared to the QB is very important for a successful blitz. You are able to sack a slightly faster QB, there apparently are some factors (maybe daily form, coaches) in the calculation but you will have a tough time sacking significantly faster QBs. In my team and league I consider a 46 Speed LB a liability to blitz.

There is a reason in last season Eliteleague games there is a QB who was not sacked once in 196 Sack Attempts (unblocked Blitzer / Lineman when attempting to pass)
This QB has 49+ Speed and Track star

Data of QBs with comparable or even better Skills at XP, Int, Passing, Vision and Pos) but less speed:

Black Dragons / Van Mossefeld: 23 Sacks / 116 Sack Attempts
Orangecrush / Hakim Abolhassan: 30 Sacks / 242 Sack Attempts
FA Mascots / Rocky Rhoades (QB) 36 Sacks / 236 Sack Attempts

Just 9 sacks in league games and 3 of those against a bot in league games

So I suspect that the majority of sacks
I would be shocked if one of those players will get significant numbers of sacks against Elite QBs

I personally would stay away from a 42 Speed LB

It seems you just missed the most important thing, which wasn't the stats.
Though, SPE 36.1 will always be 36.1, either in Elite, either in div.2, either against a bot or not.

Someone playing in div.2 (joined RZA last december) was asking for an advice.
There was a quote in my reply to someone (without any personal comments inside !) stating I did not agree.

Keep this in mind :

This.

That's why a posting which might make a rookie think that speed does not have much influence on blitzing is pretty misleading

I know exactly what I did.

This is in another post later.
Which is not about speed and blitz (or sacks).

What is misleading is your understanding.
If I can not hear you does not mean you are dumb, maybe I'm deaf.
When something is not clear you just have to ask for information.

Yes every player in the game CAN play every position. That is not why people are asking questions on this thread. It defeats the whole purpose of this thread. Just responding back that any player can play any position is neither useful nor reliable information.

I did not.

Can't you possibly just try to understand it for once ?

Now, if you think I'm wrong feel free to give useful and reliable information (i.e. explanations etc...) to a player of Div2 who joined last december.
"What to do with this guy thread..."
that's the name of this thread, if you don't mind...

That's all.

Wow, that got intense. Thank you all for the advice.

I picked this guy up for 5k as I was turning over my roster, buying younger players with decent physicals to replace all of the bums I started with. I cast a wide net and got some guys I am excited about and some I am not as hot (like this guy).

I think I am going to train him as a FB. If he can be a back up, great. If not I'll sell him.

Thank you again for the help.
