OK, back to topic.

I like the linking idea, but then you need a prio list to not having dozents of rivalries.

As suggested: use only the top X, based on win/loss ratio...finally it is something you want to brag with...

"Manager XY endet the friendship cause the win/loss ratio wasn't in his favor"

Serious: It's cool, there seems to be a way to implement it quite quickly. And yes, althought I REALLY like the idea of naming the rivalries, there's some potential to abuse it...

But a rivalry-icon would be cool. Like clashing helmets or something... May be this guy from the Dusty Springfield song "Son of a Preachie Man" has an idea.

Does not misunderstand me, but this meant: If I play often against a team which is in my Friendly list on occasion, then this team becomes my rival.

I think, that´s wrong.

For me the rivals are the 3 teams which are in my division. Since against that I must fight every season to become a division winner.

Or do I misunderstand something?

that's the question how everyone is defining a rivalry...for me it is the friendlist, for other it is the division...

i think it should be based on competitive games played against the same teams.

0-5 games could be "non rivals"

6-10 grudge match

11-15 do or die match

16+ big rivalry

or something similar

Then we need a rivalry-button
or a second friendship list, lets say a rivalry list
or a chance to switch some teams in the friendly-list from "friend" to "rival".

This means additional database stuff, which causes longer times before such a thing could come true - with my suggestion we could avoid the waiting for the database designer...

To be perfectly honest: I think it would be worth waiting... It's nothing we're really missing, so the 100% option seems to be more attractive than the "hurried compromiss"...
