Madden NFL 2008 was the last on PC I think.

Has the Franchise Mode with all the stuff needed and you can simulate the games.

Also nice but more complex is NFL Headcoach.
As far as I know there is only one version available and it's from 2006.

Front Office Football is a download game but you have to buy it. Not too bad though

NFL Headcoach is quite cool. And I think, you can buy it at the EA Online Store for a very reasonable price around 5 € or something.

Just a warning, in the EA Forums they said that it won't run on Windows 7.

I haven't tried it again since I'm on Windows 7, maybe I'll give it a try this evening.

The game itself looks very promising, the only bad thing is that it's quite old and so you can't adjust the screen resolution to e.g. 1920x1080 and I couldn't find a way to play it in windowed mode, so it looks a bit grainy.

Okay, NFL Headcoach is running here on Windows 7 without any problems so far. I even found a way to play in windowed mode. Now I know what to do tonight
