Hi,

I know that there has already been a vote which came out strongly in favour of not financially penialising the replacement of a Coach once he's announced his retirement - which is great, but I'd like to go back to something that was mentioned (I think, but couldn't find) in the run up to the vote.

I would like to suggest that once a Coach has announced said retirement that we might (might being the operative word) to be able to persuade them to stay on, on a player based 1/2/3 year contract - but obviously we would have to pay 'over the odds' for him to consider it.

Example 1: I REALLY don't want to lose my Headcoach who is 63. I appreciate he can't go on forever, but surely if I offer him enough money he'll think about extending his career?? And when I then find his replacement I would be very happy to pay the relevant contract penalty, even a BIGGER 'Golden Handshake' for his over-extended loyalty.

Example 2: Despite looking at least every 4 out of 5 days since Coaches were implemented , I have still to find my ideal OL and DL coaches. I have the right CP values, but not the right intangibles. I am completely happy (and think it right) that it will take a very long time before you find the RIGHT coach, and perhaps never find them - because that is how it is in real life. But that then leads back to example 1......

And in the end, isn't it another game feature to play Mega-Millionaire and dangle that big fat super-juicy carrot in front of the donkey?

Not really a suggestion (unless the answer is yes).

If a coach is planning on retiring at the end of THIS season, will he show up on the Transfer List?

There are some old coaches on the list that don't show they are planning to retire and I don't want to buy a coach only to have him retire at the end of this season.

Apologies, I do have a tendency to waffle. The suggestion is this:

That when a Coach announces his retirement he goes into contract mode, and can be signed to a 1/2/3 year extension in the same manner as a regular player. If you manage to sign him, then find a replacement, he doesn't go to the Transfer Market but retires as he originally planned to and goes fishing instead.

Sorry, I wasn't saying you didn't have a suggestion. I was asking a question regarding Coaches Market and retiring coaches. Didn't want to start another thread, so just used this one.
