This might have been posted already but instead of the SuperCup I'd like to see a Cup where only teams from the same nation participate so that there is something like a national championship. Has this been discussed already?

Yes
There is a good portion of managers thinking having a National Championship is useless since only one guy has fun per country, the HC. |

I personly don't like the idea, since the supercup does connect the different Leagues more or less equal. imho, SuperCup is a great concept .... it's 10,000 times better than Regional Cup in -TOG-
I can think of few downsides to the current Supercup structure .... sure, some top teams do effectively knock each other out in the group stage ... but that happens in all Cups that aren't "seeded" ... and it still happens in some seeded cups too ! I think you'd need to come up with a Genius idea for it to work better than the current Supercup. |

Of course this would cause some problems for smaller countries. A possibility would be to group them, e.g., all teams from the African continent will determine the African champion. Once some of the smaller countries grow, you could ungroup them. The downside is that this would be a totally manual approach and not feasible without heavy workload involved. Just suggested to replace the SuperCup insteading of just adding more and more games. The national championships were merely a suggestion that came to my mind because I think it would be cool to have a trophy like "Best German Team Season 4" for example. |
