I am new to this game and have only just become aware of this feature. I am in favour of it as it adds realism to the game. I myself have made it to the playoffs and this was unexpected but a great result for me this season. My little team has drawn a massive team in the next round and the chances of me winning are virtually 0% .
I the real world I wouldn’t send my team out saying go on lads do your best but you will loose. I would be saying “ This is your chance to shine, your greatest moment in your lives. Go out there and fight for every yard. Give everything you got and you may just get to the super bowl.” They would leave the dressing room with fire in their bellies. If you take this away then smaller teams will never have a chance of causing an upset and the game will become predictable and the big will always dominate. Perhaps instead of asking should it stay or go you should review the level of bonus or what effect it has on the teams involved and maybe water this down a bit. Cheers Smeagol300 |

No vote from me since I'm not really comfortable with any of the possibilities...
IMO it shouldn't be kicked, and shouldn't be restricted to just a few game types, but it shouldn't stay as it is either. I kind of have an idea which I got from an online basketball manager, where the players have a stat called "Form". At first this sounds a lot like PC, but here's the thought: - Form (or call it whatever) ranges from 1* to 5* and shows how well the players perform on the field, they can either have a hot streak where they feel they can do anything (so 5*) or a cold streak where nothing seems to go their way (i.e. 1*) - Form is NOT trainable - Its value changes during updates - Things like play time, injuries etc. (maybe even morale, TC and PC) and a litte randomness influence its value, going either up or down - 5* means the player's skills are at 100% and each half star lost means 0,5% lower in skills (so -4% for someone with 1* form) Now this is where MOTY comes into play. Playing in MOTY means only that the player's are in top form, so playing at 100% of their skills at 5* during that game (or could be only +2* or +3* as well to lower the influence of moty) So it wouldn't be like right now, where the head coach's speech makes the players pull out some 2-3 plus skill points in tackling for example and suddenly get better than they're capable of 
The opposing team, who doesn't use MOTY could also have players with 5* form, so the number of these ridiculous upsets would go down for sure. Any thoughts on this? Is this even doable without using up too much database space? |
