Could you not keep raising the bid by large amounts with days or many hours to go in the bidding? lol

Seriously though, I place a bid as a "marker" for that player so they will show up on my bid list and I will remember that the deadline is coming up.
Since we ALL know that the big time bidding is generally going to start amping up an hour before (give or take a little) why make a large raise the day before? Unless you guys think that it wouldn't make a difference on the final cost. It would seem that even though there is a player at 50 million who still has 16 hours to go that the bidding will continue to climb at the end anyway. I just think we are costing ourselves by making big raises early. Premature raising if you will.

Dude, I predict that you ain't seen nothing yet .... just wait until TheFreakinStud has built up his stadium and bank balance ...I predict the transfer market will go nuts and you can add a couple of zeroes to whatever prices you're currently having to pay !

Well its easy - get the price early up to the level where i will not spend more and i can easily forget about the player

I dont think "we" are overpaying - im sure "we" make sure somebody else is not get a bargain

lol, is that the new tactic, if there is a player we can't get we make the next guy pay as much as possible? Cut throat! lol

I push the bids up for one reason - to try to overcome the daft 50% rule as soon as possible. If I can't be online when the auction finishes (often!) I need to be able to get my max bid in as early as possible.

Precisely!!

I like Haddad a lot. If he was still in my price range tonight when I go to bed, I have to either let him go, or get up at 2:30AM.

It's so much easier on my body to get his price up early. Then I can have good night's sleep (and I sure as hell need my beauty sleep!)

Now that he's past $40Mil, I know I'll sleep tight tonight.
