I find it very frustrating that I cannot bid the amount I'd willingly pay for a player and that I have to do it in increments, over time.

I want to be able to say 'I'll bid $5million' on day one.

The current mechanism extends the auction when there is a late bid. That is great because it prevents sniping, but it still does permit people to wait until of the auction to up the bidding. So, that is fine and allows that style of play. What isn't fine is the fact that if I cannot make even the last few hours of bidding, I'm never going to win a player because of how the bidding increments up from a slow start.

I don't have all the time in the world to follow auctions. I want to be able to bid an unconstrained value. Christies auction house doesn't limit bid increments. Andrew Luck won't have said to the Colts - 'Sure, I wanna know what you'll pay me - but start at $16k and only go up in 50% increments. . .' This game mechanic makes no sense, and merely causes frustration.

So - my suggestion is to let people bid whatever they want - not limit it to 50% of the last bid.

At the moment, this is the most frustrating part of the game for me.

I think this is a thing to prevent cheating.

Exactly. We have seen money transfers, where one manager is making one high bid on the player of another manager. Nobody else entered the auction, and the money transfer was huge (several millions). The actual system won't allow such things

i know that there have been quit a few discussion without agreements about this topic, but for me the current transfermarket system needs to be changed urgently!
until now, you can hardly buy a play if you´re not online by deadline time.

if i understand aright, not allowing maximum bids at once/ overbid by 50% max is a control mechanism. i can agree with that.

what about this:
- staring price for player is 1.000 $
- a manager 1 can submit a unlimited max bid of let´s say 10.000.000 $
- till now the player would be sold for 1.000 $, if there´s no other manager to raise the bid.
- manager 2 submits a bid of 2.000 $, he will be told:
"bid is not high enough...", manager 1 is still in charge with the amount of the last bid.
- and so on, manager 2 would have to pay more than the maximum bid of manager 1 to buy the player

this would achieve the cheating control thing, but also allow maximum bids.

another thing i would like to suggest is to raise the minimum of 1.000 $ to a certain percentage of the current bid. i think it´s just annoying and boring, to go by raises of 1.000 $ once you hit the millions... i cannot see any disadvantage!?

If A is making a bid of 10000000 on a starting price of 1000, and B is not overbidding him by the mentioned rules, what is the price the player willbe sold for? 1000 or 10000000? If it is 10000000, then the Cheat thing is possible again. If it is 1000, you cheat the seller, IMO

The second suggestion is on the To Do, and becomes active on Season rollover. Check the ToDo list pls.

I think he mean something like this.

We have this player A.
He hits the market with a starting bid of 1000.

Now there is 2 managers that is interresting in this player, manager 1 and 2.

manager 1 cant be online when the deadline hits but manager 2 can.

So managers is having an option in putting a maximum bid in for that player, and this is also what manager 1 does.

He put a maximum bid of 100´000 on the player.

Since manager 1 is the first one to bid, he is the highest bidder on 1000. (but he have placed a cap on 100´000)

Now manager 2 gets in and bid, since hes online. at start he bids 2000, but it does not show that he got the highest bid becourse automaticly the highest bid is 3000 by manager 1.

it continues like this, untill manager 2 hits his maximum that he want to put into this player, lets say its 75´000.

He gets to this cap, and is bidding 75´000, but he still isent the highest bidder since it is manager 1 with a bid of 76´000.

Manager 1 wins the auction and must pay 76´000 for the player.
But since you is changing this maxbid with 5% till next season, this have to be taken into account aswell.

If 2 or more ppl is putting a maximum bid, then it raises automatically to that point where only the one putting up the highest bid in in the lead.

A manager will be allowed to change his maximum bid at any time.

Very, very simple:

- Players by another team - - > same system as now (incremental bid)
- Free agents - - > free bid

No?

See, the manager B would have bid maybe 500000. By the current system he would earn something like this, because A and B would enter a bidwar on that player. In your system they don't, since B stops trying to place "hidden bids" at 500000. The seller gets the initial 1000, and this is why I said "you would cheat the seller", by 490000...

maybe you got me wrong, or i´m kinda lost in translation...

according to your example, i thougt i could be that way:
player is on TM for 1.000
manager A submits max bid of 1.000.000 in first place.
(if no other manager is interested, he would be sold for 1.000)
then manager B jumps in and but stops raising the price at 500.000.
because he did not overbid manager A´s max bid, manager A is still in charge. the player would be sold for 500.000 + 5% to manager A
