I think he mean something like this.

We have this player A.
He hits the market with a starting bid of 1000.

Now there is 2 managers that is interresting in this player, manager 1 and 2.

manager 1 cant be online when the deadline hits but manager 2 can.

So managers is having an option in putting a maximum bid in for that player, and this is also what manager 1 does.

He put a maximum bid of 100´000 on the player.

Since manager 1 is the first one to bid, he is the highest bidder on 1000. (but he have placed a cap on 100´000)

Now manager 2 gets in and bid, since hes online. at start he bids 2000, but it does not show that he got the highest bid becourse automaticly the highest bid is 3000 by manager 1.

it continues like this, untill manager 2 hits his maximum that he want to put into this player, lets say its 75´000.

He gets to this cap, and is bidding 75´000, but he still isent the highest bidder since it is manager 1 with a bid of 76´000.

Manager 1 wins the auction and must pay 76´000 for the player.
But since you is changing this maxbid with 5% till next season, this have to be taken into account aswell.

If 2 or more ppl is putting a maximum bid, then it raises automatically to that point where only the one putting up the highest bid in in the lead.

A manager will be allowed to change his maximum bid at any time.

This seems pretty clear...I like it.
If Admin thinks the seller might be cheated out of income an additional option might be that when Mgr 1 wins the bid the system automatically adds 1 or 2 max incremental bids on top....eg. instead of 76,000 it would be 78750 and 82687
Or just a flat percentage like 10 - 15 % call it a signing bonus

I love the idea

2 Manager do a bid war for half hour and they settle at 70 Mill.

Just do see just after the bid war ended, that i get him for 73,5 Mill based on new transfer market rule

i think you missunderstod a bit,

for you example, i understand that there is a total of 3 managers that shows interrest (those 2 managers + you) where you have placed a maxbid and they havent, therefor they is having a bidwar while you is either offline or just watching the "show".

now, manager 1 bids 60 mill, but he isent the one with the highest bid still. Why? becourse you have a maximum of lets say 80 mill. instead of showing "manager 1 got highest bid at 60 mill", it shows that "turtle got highest bid of 63´000´000".

now manager 2 makes a bid at 69 million, but instead of showing "manager 2 have the highest bid at 69 million" it shows "turtle got highest bid of 72´450´000.

And it will continue like this untill your maxbid no longer is the highest. If you are online and you still want to put in more money this will be possible. Its just that this system will be in favor for those that cannot be online at deadline.

ok?

the only thing is if a player will be expensive pretty fast if a new good player hits the market and the first manager that see him put a maximum bid in at 50 million, and a few minutes later another manager put in a maximum bid at 45 million.

Then this player would have a market price at 47´250´000 in only a couple of minutes, but this isent bad in my opinion.

it would also be easy to spot cheat becourse if some player on the market got bids at alot of million this player is drawing interrest in the market, and if he isent good enough it should be easy to report.

Doesn't this suggestion sound a lot like the "blind bidding" topic that was suggested a couple of months ago? For some reason it didn't pass back then, but everyone seems to love it now...

Could the new change for 5% minimum bid have such an effect on former TM suggestions or are people simply that fed up with the current TM that as long as it changes anything will do?

also, when you put up old threads, i think that i was first with the suggestion in increasing the minimum bid, and it was shot down back then, but seems to be applied in next season,

Everything needs time, if it wasent good back in time, nothing says it will not be good in the future..

one thing to keep in mind....If a new mgr set a high bid and doesn't pay attention he could be broke really fast. As bids could easliy be driven up on them.
