I've just read the manual on this subject, but can I just confirm ......

If I've got an oversize Youth Academy ...I would get a $100,000 fine on the next Training update.

but .... I WOULD NOT get the "Level 1 to Level 4 Warning" stuff for an oversize Roster.

Am I correct in thinking that there are 2 entirely different processes i.e. (1) the oversize YA process and (2) the oversize Roster process and that these two processes are not linked in any way ??

Is it $100,000 per player that is above the YA max or just a blanket fine of $100,000 irrespective of however many players over YA max a manager is ?

Once per update, not per player!

OK .... thinking theoretically here... what is to stop an "exploit" whereby a manager runs an oversize YA of 40 players and just pays the $100k penalty each time ?

I know that's 'against the spirit' of the rules, but it doesn't seem to be prevented by the actual rules.

Yep, that would be possible for now. Well spotted!

Maybe a rule change to $100k per player ... wouldn't stop an oversize YA, but would make it proportionally more expensive as each oversize player is added ???

Let me think about it - but money is probably not enough. It is on todo, so I won't miss it

Even 100k per player isn't enough to deter.

This topic "running a massive YA for only an extra $100k per week" entered my head a while ago ... not that I was ever planning to do it, but I didn't see anything in the rules to stop it, or any real financial disincentive(s) to stop it.
For all I know, somebody has actually done it and really has a YA of 90 players (is it you, Sfniner ? !! ).

so I just thought I'd put the topic out there to see how people viewed it.
