I still don't see how Pete. Since both the offense and the defense would be able to slot their players to counter the tendencies of the other team - - how could this be exploited?

but you're not "countering" anything ....you're actually "guessing".... there is a massive difference.

You're guessing, for example, that a team will line-up with the star WR at WR/R and not WR/L .... i.e. because of the lack of real-time tactical changes/real-time substitutions ... you're countering nothing and guessing everything.

I still don't see how that is an exploit. Because it is fair to both teams. To me an exploit is where one team can take a massive advantage.

If Im on offense, I need to "guess" which side my opponent will place his/her best CBs (in your WR example), best DL's and best LBs.

If I am the defender, I need to "guess" which side the team is most likely to run to, pass to etc.

Pete - feel free to tell me to just shaddupaboutit .. and I will.

OK ...two questions

(1) Do you actually want to see formations as extreme as this in RZA i.e. CB/L , CB/L , FS/L , SS/L and no right-sided CB/SS/FS ??

(2) If you do have very one-sided formations like this, what happens ?
Basically ,you guess whether the opponent will throw to WR/R or WR/L all the time ..... i.e. whether it's an "exploit" or not is a debate on words, but it certainly becomes a "coin-flip game" ..... left or right ? heads or tails ? .

I think this could be countered by the playbook, an element -TOG-doesn't offer. You would need to provide single sided defense formations too, and you can counter them then in the playbook. I fear about newbees with less smart playbooks...but all this is only for the formation itself, we do not avoid single sided tactics with unequal rosters ("play the strong WR on my strong side, always") This free formation editor in -TOG- combined with the absence of a playbook to react during the game is what making it worse and a real exploit.

1. NO - - each formation would be required to have players at all slots. You must have a CB/L and a CB/R, FS - always plays the weak side, and SS is always on the strong side of the formation. I am not at all trying to suggest that someone would put all their defenders on one side of the field.
