I saw the Detroit Lions playing this defensive formation today:

But I say why not would be good change on pace to the 3 3 5 |

Just a suggestion because we have a lot of passing in the game. The Lions lost the game so maybe the formation is not great. Who knows ?

DEL DER DTL DTR MLB MLB2 CBL CBL2 CBR CBR2 FSC This formation defends against the short pass through a mixture of coverage and line pressure while still maintaining a somewhat reasonable rush defense comparable(slightly superior to) to 3-3-5. The catch... this set is more vulnerable to longer passes than other 5 DB formation options. A somewhat strong option that can backfire horribly if misused. edit... This formation would depend on the engine being able to have the MLB's 'try' to cover the runs over the OT's when able. Also, if the MLB's aren't able to keep up with the outside rush(because of speed, agility, vision, whatever), then outside rushes would still be a threat as the RB/FB could potentially just run right over a CB(depending on the stats of course) and keep going. Inside rushes would be at a significant disadvantage though. Again, I was aiming for a high risk, high reward defensive option. A spread defense to counter a typical spread offense. Both LB would have to be MLB as the engine doesn't support non-symetrical formations iirc.
